Staff went above and beyond

Excellent location in a historic castle. Very convent with a Vaporetto stop only a few steps away from the entrance.

The location is ideal! A short walk to San Marco but far enough away to feel removed from the large crowds. A water bus stop next to the hotel is very convenient! The bar and restaurant manager, Matteo, makes a fantastic Negroni. Will certainly stay there again!

We were referred here by several friends. Great location immediately off the vaporetto. Imagine my surprise when we were brought our room which felt like we were being put in the attic. Big room with no windows, only a sky light. The carpet is threadbare, the furnishings ugly. It was so hot, no air movement. We were told the AC was off for the season, he would see about getting us a fan. Had to open the sky light for ventilation ( no fan delivered). I awoke to mosquito bites everywhere but mostly my face, arms and hands. A fan was finally provided but damage done, huge, itchy welts. The continental breakfast was disappointing after our wonderful breakfasts in Rome and Florence. Essentially, toast, fruit, yogurt. We met a couple from Germany that stay here annually for many years. They showed us their room which was beautiful and then they saw ours and gasped! Thankfully Venice is so amazing we were not in hotel much but it would have been nice to sleep in comfort.

Glorious location on the Grand Canal. The staff was excellent-clearly the most professional people are hired by the management. Breakfast, cocktail hour, and dinner were all delicious-we had no desire to look elsewhere when we could sit outside on a terrace next to the Grand Canal. Umbrellas protected us from a brief sprinkle of rain. The recommendation to visit Murano via water taxi was much appreciated. We were picked up off the hotel entrance. We didn't want to leave!

We absolutely loved staying at Hotel Palazzo Stern! It was perfect in every way-the staff was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you Sabina for all of the great communication prior to our arrival and help during our stay! We will be back❤️

Location was spectacular.

Stern was absolutely charming. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms were super clean and well appointed. The downstairs bar was wonderful. You could get a drink and sit out on the veranda and watch the grand canal. Venice was super crowded the weekend we were here, but the hotel was quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Love Venizia!!!

Palazzo Stern, a boutique hotel right on the Grand Canale in the Dorsodoro sestierè, was a wonderful spot in May.The outdoor terrace for breakfast and dinner is romantic and magical, a front row seat to Venetian day time water life and nighttime beauty. Our room was well appointed and immaculate. The hotel’s location is optimal, easy walking to all sights and far less crowded than main tourist areas.

We enjoyed a wonderful three day break here. It's one of very few hotels that has a terrace on the grand canal, it's an easy walk to most of the city yet is usefully distant from the seathing tourist districts, it's five minutes from the excellent Bakaro restaurant and the room was lovely, well designed and beautifully crafted. Highly recommended.

This a luxury hotel with great staff. I just wanted to mention that the bath tub is very tall and getting in and out was not easy. Also one has to be careful not to slide in the tub. The location is great and right in front of the public water boat station. There is no need to pay the high price of a water taxi. The location is also within walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Really cool and unique old place. Very nice and helpful staff, and the rooms had an elegant old school vibe. Very good stay.

Great location! Historic property!

Nice unique property. Walkable area close to sites and restaurants. I little pricey-complicated to get there. You need an uber, and then a "water taxi". But this is Venice! Not Omaha! Enjoy!

Wonderful hotel, perfect location. Staff outstanding. A true gem

Our first trip to Venice and Hotel Palazzo Stern was an ideal choice for us. It has 15th Century charm with modern renovation and conveniences. Excellent location on the Grand Canal. Public transportation at the front door of the hotel. Easy walking distance to San Marco attractions and shopping. Excellent dining with many options within a five minute walk. Hotel staff friendly, courteous and aim to please. Would definitely stay here again.

The only reason I cant give this lovely property an excellent rating was that there an infestation of mosquitoes in Venice at the time and unfortunately we were unaware. Slept with windows open and were bitten to pieces. Also, i was denied use of their parking garage as my car was too large ( Audi Q7). With that, we lost opportunity to use their designated boat. Which, from the start was a major reason we booked there. That said, i would still recommend this hotel to friends and family.
