Beautiful hotel with excellent service. The staff is outstanding and truly makes the experience special. The hotel is renovated and very well maintained. However, it is quite expensive for what it offers, and the breakfast was below average.

Please be aware that I had my watch stolen at the hotel. The rooms are cramped and inadequate lighting. I had to use my torch to find things in the evening. Despite this, the spa is lovely... the lift and rooms are dated and overpriced for what it is.

We paid a very high price to stay here for three nights. The service was mostly attentive and friendly and the breakfast was good. For the price, we will not be returning. We were told on arrival that the pool was closed for renovation and gaslit that we had been told that over email on booking. The only place this is mentioned is in small font on the website specifically on the page for the pool! The rooms were sub-standard and in need of complete renovation and the ski room was small, cramped and stank of sewage. We expected much more out of lodge park!

I've been to this hotel a few times and find it great though it suffers from a few flaws: (1) Dark rooms make it difficult to find your stuff and organise your luggage. (2) Awful wifi doesn't connect easily and when it does its erratic and slow. Funnily enough, in the lobby it works quite nicely and speedily. I complained about this three separate times during my stay with a nod from the staff that they would inform the responsible person but nothing was done throughout my six night stay. (I was in room 104 that was at the complete other end of the hotel from the lobby. Clearly issues there.) It's nice to get a card from Frédéric Pouydebat (the hotel GM) on arrival and departure but what's the use if this isn't backed by true attention to detail? (3) The gym is quite small with only two treadmills, a bike, rower and small, minimal weights (max 10kg dumbbells). Only useful for the most cramped basic workouts. This wasn't a huge issue since I skied all days but one but it would have been useful for the times I used it. (4) Expensive hotels of this caliber shouldn't have those annoying anti-theft hangers in the wardrobe! When using them in the bathroom (to steam a shirt for example) there's no easy way to hang them. The good parts: (1) Well located very close to the center of Megeve. (2) Friendly staff that will try to help but only in the instant (so they can't deal with real problems/issues). Maybe if I made a bigger deal. (3) Nice hotel lobby bar for early/late evenings with a decent but not overbearing crowd. I generally don't write long reviews but I post this to remind myself not to stay here anymore as sadly this place has gone downhill. It used to be my default over the last 10+ years but next time I'm definitely going to pick one of the growing selection of (non-Sibuet) hotels. Maybe not the Four Seasons (too corporate/bland) but there are lots of great options.
