Lovely hotel, friendly staff. Close to city centre. Lovely choice of breakfast. We were at the back of the hotel, which was good, front would have been very noisy as its a busy road. Private parking so we didn't need to worry. Would stay here again.

Staff very friendly hotel in great location

Laura is the best!! We arrived after a long journey and on arriving in our room there was a terrible smell from the bathroom. It was so strong you could smell it from out the room - We put the exttractor on and opened the windows and thought we’d go for a walk and see if it had gone when we got back. Mentioned it to Laura at reception on our way out and she immediately said they only had one more room available so she’d rather change is straight away than wait until we got back from our walk in case the room went. So we swapped and the next room was so much better. Laura did go to investigate and by the next day we could tell the smell was no longer detectable from outside the room. Laura also gave me some great recommendations for where to visit in York. To be fair - all the staff we lovely - the breakfast team were very efficient and friendly. The hotel was in a great location - 5 minute walk to York Minster and the walls you can walk around, or you can walk down to the river in a similar time. I would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to York.

Very close to all the attractions- parking on site ideal.

Person staying next door tv volume very loud, went out & left TV on. Maybe he didnt know how loud it was, or had no respect for others? Only negative, and not Hotels fault. Would recommend as excellent position for Theatre Royal, and choice of restaurants.

The friendliest hotel. Staff were very attentive. The breakfast was outstanding. The bed was so comfortable. The cleanest room i have ever stayed in. Simply an excellent hotel. Thank you to all t b e staff for an amazing stay.

Conveniently located just a few blocks from Botham Bar and York Minster in one direction, and the River Ouse in the other, this well-run modest hotel provides safe, comfortable and affordable lodging. The cheerful staff did all they could to accommodate our every request, making our five-day staff very pleasant indeed.

The bed was comfy, a good size bathroom including toiletries. An excellent breakfast both the food and service. Check in was easy and the reception staff friendly. The hotel is approx 5 minutes walk to York Minster and approx 15 minutes from the station. All in all a great place to base yourself for sightseeing

First class service from the moment you enter the hotel, my room was renovated and bathroom as well. Was well catered for at breakfast, nothing is too much trouble and it shows as to how the hotel is run. Daily supplies of tea/coffee/biscuits in room. Its close to the city centre and all the tourist attractions.

A lovely place to stay within easy walking distance to York Minster and the Shambles. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Good location and secure parking

Nice spacious room, close to city centre with very, very friendly staff and excellent service... Food was excellent with lots of choice at breakfast, which was included in the price. Only minor point was that there were a couple of little decorative tired bits around the edges like the net curtain had a tear for example... But it was nothing so big as to take the shine off our stay. Would return absolutely and would highly recommend.

Tony and his staff were brilliant. Walkable. Outstanding breakfast. Gated off street parking in the heart of the city. Book direct through the hotel and parking/breakfast are gratis. You will not find a better deal or a more professional and friendly staff. Thx Tony.

A lovely, cosy friendly hotel in an excellent location in York. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable & the tea and biscuits in the room very welcome & delicious. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
