I love this hotel, we visit every year. It is very relaxing, the pools are great and the indoor thermal pool is amazing. Spa service is very good also. Food is fantastic, staff are very professional and friendly. The service in the bar/cafe can be very slow. The bedrooms are very old and really need to be renovated, they smell of damp and are very dusty. It is a shame as the rest of the hotel is absolutely lovely.

Comfortable and elegant hotel with access to stylish outdoor pool and thermal bath included. Our pet dog was welcomed but not allowed in the dining room or by the outdoor pool - OK in summer when you can eat on the patio. Short drive from Solares to Santander.

Well located for access to Santander sea port. Beautiful building and quiet location that welcomed our dog for €19 (€150 deposit refunded on check out) Pros: . Secure underground parking free of charge . Quality and quantity of breakfast included in the rate . Room size . Bathroom size and complimentary spa quality shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc. . Quiet . Pet friendly . Local restaurants and supermarket within walking distance . Pleasant bar area … able to sit on the terrace with our dog Cons : . Room service has limited menu and is not served until 2030 hours Biggest Con: . Air conditioning is switched off centrally between the hours of 0100 and 0700 The biggest con spoiled our stay as the room was over hot and we were unable to sleep.

Overall this is a nice hotel. The thermal pool is excellent! The 40 euro spa is nice, but not worth 40 euros. Our air conditioning wasn’t working when we arrived and they came within the hour to fix it. Fun fact: the hotel turns off the air conditioning from 0200 to 0600 ish, so if you wake up warm, that’s why.

The castle is beautiful, however the front desk check in lady was rude, so that was my initial impression. The rooms were a bit outdated, no tea kettles in room, termal pool was not termal or hot.. it was slightly warm, just overall not impressed. It was not worth the price paid per night. Parking in garage was 6.50 euros per night which was fair and nice because lift goes up to room from garage. The breakfast buffet was nice with many options. This was also an extra charge.

As a business traveller I wouldn't recommend this hotel .. there was no iron/board in room but also not available in hotel .Also no kettle in room or again even available .. for these reasons wouldn't stay again

One day room was not clean, bed not maid,, no towels etc. The said I hung a do not disturb sign out, not so. Had to wait 2 hours to have room cleaned. Otherwise a good stay. I think someone fibbed. A Higuera

Warm welcome to this comfortable hotel. We travelled with our dog and we’re made to feel very welcome and a dog bed and dishes were in our room on arrival. We were asked for EUR 150 room deposit as we had our pet with us and this was credited to our room charge on check out once the room had been checked for no damage. The terrace is closed mid week so no option to dine outdoors. We chose room service which was distinctly average and therefore not good value. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent. Main pool area is attractive but pool not well kept … lovely gardens to walk in close proximity. ELV users - there are 2 11KW Iberdrola chargers in the underground car park (no signal in car park so have to stand outside door!) sadly neither we’re working - be warned! We did report this to Iberdrola who were aware of issue but hotel reception claimed they knew nothing!

The location is great. You can visit many beautiful places all around: Santander, Comillas, Santillana, Cabárceno. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. Staff is really nice and worried for a pleasant stay. Breakfast is complete with a big variety of food. The thermal pool is really nice and relaxing. All clean and following the health and safety measures. The hotel is very prepared for the actual pandemic situation. Recommended for a relaxing and romantic stay. The room status is something I should mention, due to the esthetic harms in furniture and walls. You expect a little bit more care on this, in a 4* hotel. But overall, the room is clean, the bed is huge, the room is super spacious and awesome views!

Interesting location given the history of the Hotel. The staff are motivated from the front desk, the concierge though to the waiters. The location is excellent as it affords you the ability to visit some rather good nearby wine estates and their restaurants.

Great location, friendly staff, huge and very comfortable rooms and wonderful spa facilities. Restaurant let’s it down badly.
