Hotel Carignano is a perfect hotel to stay in with their great staff, easy check in, a location that is very amenable to the walled old town Lucca (tip: free parking at Piazzale Don Franco Baroni. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the walls from there.) The breakfast buffet has ample and a variety of foods to select from. A truly great hotel to stay in and enjoy all that Lucca has to offer!!

The front desk receptionists Flora and especially Laura who went far and beyond to help us to have our stay memorable!

Breakfast was an issue because bus tourist ate everything in site and nothing was left. Tub was difficult for shower but room and bed were fine

The reception wanted to keep our passports overnight, I said no and she copied them and gave them to me. The wifi didn't work in the room. She said that since I was on vacation it was of little importance. The coffee maker at breakfast didn't work so we went to the bar for coffee. She said the bar coffee was better so I should be silent.

We sadly only stayed 1 night here as we were on route to Umbria. Such friendly staff and a great pool for the boys! I would definitely recommend this hotel. Despite being on the periphery of Lucca it was perfect for a quick breather. The staff made the hotel even better as they were really friendly and welcoming. There is a good, well priced restaurant attached to the hotel where we are well and without spending vast sums. Well worth a visit!

The website does not make clear that neither the swimming pool nor the air conditioning are available until June at the earliest making for a very uncomfortable stay in May when the rooms are too hot to sleep.

Hotel was nice and clean. Room was hot even with the A/C on and the bead was really hard. Restaurant next to hotel was amazing and where we took a cooking class. Staff was friendly.

If you like staying in a countryside atmosphere, this is a very nice choice. It's fairly close to Lucca and it's very reasonable. The rooms are a bit dated, but have everything you need. It's not a luxury place, but good value for the money.

Overall fine. Rooms are ok, staff is friendly, and location is convenient. Swimming pool is a plus.

We cl is it's Toscana and wanted to be in a place that had easy access to main highways to travel around. This hotel was great because it can è central point to many cities nearby besides Lucca; either for driving or cycling. Restaurants are located mainly in Lucca (5' drive) and parking could be time consuming so plan accordingly. Pool was nice and spacious. Beds clean. We enjoyed our family stay !!

A good hotel, staff was very friendly and location good. It is however, several miles outside of Lucca, which the description of the location does not state. You definitely need a car - biking seems a bit dangerous.

Generally OK and in a quiet rural location. Perhaps not the most convenient location.

We came as a family of 4 with young kids. The fact that the hotel has a restaurant is a great advantage if you come back from a long day and want a close place to have dinner. The room looks and feel like a higher class hotel room. The hotel area is beautiful. Just to the left of the hotel there is a great mountain road. Breakfast was also of a higher class hotels. Pitty the pool was out of order. Stuff is very friendly and know English well.

Good breakfast, easy to reach the city center, very good price. There's a excellent restaurant there, one of the best you can find there. Very convenient and not expensive. Staff very friendly and speaks good english. Must have a car. Free parking lot at the hotel.

All the staff were very polite and spoke english, which was very useful since I do not speak Italian. I'm very satisfied and would definitely recomend this hotel.
