Great hotel. Right at beach front and restaurants and shops and very safe. The room was clean and house keeping was very accessible and helpful. However you should really, really, really invest on purchasing mattress sheets with the elastic bands the grab the mattress. What is up with using regular sheets on the mattress?? Have of the time, after a few tosses and turns during the night, one ends up sleeping on the bare mattress. Thank goodness it was clean. Nevertheless, it was still gross.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT STAYING HERE. The budget-priced Rede Andrade Barra redefines "you get what you pay for." Let me start with what's good about it: -LOCATION: It faces one of the most popular beaches in Salvador, in a neighborhood that is roughly the equivalent of Ipanema. -BREAKFAST: Every morning there is a free, plentiful, typically Brazilian breakfast spread. -GYM: The fitness room is well-stocked enough for you to get a decent workout. -FRONT-DESK STAFF: Mostly efficient and sincere. It's not their fault that the place is such a mess. They do a lot of apologizing. Because it's cheap, Rede Andrade Barra was packed during my eight-day stay (which started on the last day of Carnaval 2025). But it's clearly gone to seed. Among the charms I encountered: -The advertised WiFi didn't work. Sometimes it flickered on weakly for a minute. If you have business to do (or even need WiFi in order to call Ubers and such), you'll be furious. I was. -One of the two client elevators was out of order. The other moved so agonizingly slowly (the cleaning staff uses it but shouldn't) that I and a lot of other guests were reduced to taking the stairs in order to avoid five-minute rides. And I was on the 11th floor. -Graying, overwashed sheets with holes in them. No fitted sheets. Frayed towels. -The soap dish in my shower was falling out of the wall. -The hallways are un-air-conditioned and hotter than hell. -The place looks dirty and run-down. Need I say more?

The hotel is dated, in poor repair. Only one of the two elevators was working. The room had nothing in it, no cups, soap, etc. completely bare except bedding and towels. The safe was missing its door. View was of construction.

Decadent hotel in horrible conditions. The curtain was riped, sheets that barely cover the over stained mattress, bathroom door falling apart, only two small pillows for a double bed and when I called the front desk they stated they didn’t have any extra. Besides that we also found a few cockroaches in the room. Definitely didn’t worth the stay. Almost forgot: they charged extra 30 reais for parking.

The best thing about this hotel is its location at Porto da Barra, just a few steps away from the beach, supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants etc. But the hotel itself is dated and poorly maintained. The lift has problems, the room and bathroom need urgent renovation, or at least a (very) deep clean. In the gym, none of the 3 threadmills worked and the space was left filthy, with dead cockroaches all over the floor day after day. I had booked a 5 day stay but left after just 2. Shame as the location is juet perfect.

This is the worst hotel we've ever seen. It is extremely DIRTY and UNSAFE. The building is falling apart. They do not follow best practices to ensure guests' safety! We booked this hotel for 5 nights during carnaval and decided to leave after 1 night. Issues: - Lack of safety: They added a sticker with the room number to each door key that also shows the name of the hotel. If you lose your key, someone will be able to get into your room and take your belongings! - Building: Every wall is stained and dirty: lobby, hallways, bedroom, all doors. - Stairs: Unsafe and not built to code. Ceiling is too short and the steps are uneven. There’s chipped paint everywhere. - Elevator: It shakes and makes some rattling sound as if it's about to drop to the bottom. - Bedroom: The AC was dusty, held together with tape and dripped on top of the bed. The safe didn't work. The door didn't lock properly and there wasn't a safety lock on the inside. Lots of dust and black mold everywhere. - Bathroom: Moldy. There was hair and dirt in the shower. The shower drain didn't drain. - Amenities: Towels are worn out and look dirty. Mini fridge had signs of corrosion all over it. - Staff: They try their best but they’re unequipped to provide good service under these conditions. When I told them about all the issues above, they agreed and said they were not surprised but could not do anything about it.
