The hotel didn’t have the courtesy to tell us that they were having a private event which took over the entire ground floor rooms including the main dining room. Because of the fact that great numbers of the party guests were standing all over the dining area, plus the extremely loud disco and pop up casino. It was impossible for us to have dinner, so we had to go out about 12miles to find a restaurant on a Saturday night that wasn’t full. Terrible stay , never would go back. Breakfast was mediocre, and needed replenishing.

We had our wedding at The Hawkstone Park Hotel last year and wanted to come back for our first wedding anniversary. The hotel was as wonderful as it was the day we got married. We will be back next year and will stay more than one night next time!

Nice location. Close to West Midlands Shooting Grounds and a short drive to Shrewsbury. 2 nice golf courses. Also has a great breakfast. A small fridge in the room would have been nice

Staff friendly, polite and helpful. A bit out of the way.

The reason I gave the 2 stars for check in is actually disappointment with Expedia because we were put in an accessibility room which was small and dingy. The hotel did find us an alternative room but it wasn't a nice experience having to complain as soon as we arrived.

Stayed for a wedding function, staff exceeded expectations from the initial check in, attentive staff, excellent customer experience. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options.

Really nice stay after a charity event, good breakfast in the morning with good selection. No air-con in the room which was needed only a very noisy fan.

contacted the hotel a couple of days before arrival to discuss dietary needs as I have life threatening allergies.. great helpful response. But on arrival there was no food they put an emergency meal together which was tasteless and proteinless.. I told the waiter I couldn't eat.. I had a couple of mouthfuls .. and yet they still charged me £22 for it.. because of the difficulty I was left weak as rice in bland tomato juice was all I had eaten all day.. so unable to argue at the time. I showed them the email sent as proof but they didn't care. If I had nothing in advance it would be my fault but I did so it is all on the hotel.

The views of the Golf Course, Hotel OK the Bed was really comfortable, Breakfast was OK the evening meal was very poor.

Perfect location for golfers

We enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were lovely & friendly. Rooms were of high spec with comfortable beds. Breakfast was typical buffet style. Plenty of space to park. Closest town was Wem where there were a few pubs.

The room was lovely. The breakfast was fantastic.

Staff were great but that's about it. After checking in we went to our room, only to find no power in the bathroom. Very helpful person on the reception showed us where the fuses were to reset, which indicated it's happened before. Showered Showerhead wouldn't stay upright so had to hold it. Also damage to the wall (a hole) in the bathroom that hadn't been fixed. Breakfast is ok if you like a full English, but if you want anything else, it's very limited. Now we know why breakfast was a low additional extra. Probably fine for a weekend if you're a golfer, but for anything else, try somewhere else

Nice hotel in a beautiful location, nice room and great staff.

The hotel was fine. Rooms were nice and big, with tvs, nice amenities etc. but the beds and pillows weren’t very comfortable. The biggest downside though was that the wifi was extremely unreliable, and there wasn’t great service to even use our phone data. Couldn’t stream anything, it constantly just stopped working or wouldn’t load, and we literally gave up on trying and watched things we had already downloaded to our computer. This place is fine for a weekend if you want somewhere to crash but don’t go there expecting to be able to do work or stream things.
