Beautiful hotel right across the street from the beach. View was amazing.

Excellent hotel! Walkable to everything. Right across from the beach was perfect! You cant beat the price of this place.The staff was really friendly and the room was great! Especially the patio! Breakfast was okay nothing special but at least it was something. I will definitely be booking again!

The facility provides grill to cook up your own bbq. They have recreation area and lots of movies to rent. The staff are very accomodating, friendly, and all around excellent in customer service.

Good location

While we travel a lot this is my first poor review. This property has a cooling system that sounds like an airplane is taking off in your room that blows from the top of the wall near the ceiling. As soon as the air turns on we all covered our heads because it was not only noisy it blows arctic air for about 10 minutes, then over the next 20 minutes the room slowly gets hot, then the arctic air goes on again, rinse and repeat. No one got any sleep. Oh and I paid extra for an ocean view. From the first floor you only see the traffic and plants, and yes off in the distance you see the ocean water out in the distance. The Ocean is actually about 20 feet lower than the road. So forget the extra for the ocean view. The second and third floors are timeshares, so it is not possible to get an ocean view through Expedia. The second night my daughter, a nurse, found a bed bug in her bed. Worst place to stay ever! The front desk staff were not very friendly, never asked about how my stay was, but the interior staff around the pool . . . were really nice.

We may have got an old room. Kinda small, and was a handicap room which was fine. No smart tv like other hotels, and breakfast was good, just not too many options. The location is wonderful, just wanted one day by the beach and this was a good price for location, maybe needs an update. Staff is awesome by the way! Photo from the lobby.

Property is rundown and feels more like a motel than a hotel. The lobby had such a strong chemical smell that it was difficult to be in there even during check-in.

Great location directly across from the beach. Comfortable beds. An older property but updated. Very clean. Traffic noise in beach facing rooms but minimal at a reasonable hour. Staff friendly. Great bonus of continental breakfast for some rooms. Lovely patio with table and chairs to watch the sunset from beach view rooms. Good security in garage. Would stay again.

We celebrated our anniversary and stayed at the Tamarack Beach hotel, this was such a great location. We had a beautiful beach view, we were walking distance to the beach and restaurants. This is my go to spot while staying in Carlsbad.

My room was next to the elevator. Very noisy room. Impossible to sleep. The overall property is very nice with friendly staff. Bad room in a decent place

Lobby staff were not very approachable. Always in the back office rather than at the checkin desk. Maintenance and cleaning staff were very friendly and helpful. Air conditioning in room was so loud it would wake you up out of a sleep. Beds were very hard. Definitely an older building that needs some upgrades. Location was great. Close to ocean access and village. Probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Love the fact that the ocean is right across the street and there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. We stayed for those two reasons but mainly because it is also close to Del Mar where we went for the day to watch the horse races.

Fantastic property for families. Pool, hot tubs, breakfast included. Right across the street from beach and a strip of grass that had fun performers every night. Best was Bubble Bubba with huge bubbles.
