Returning to this hotel filled us with excitement, reminiscing about our delightful previous stay However, our anticipation quickly turned to disappointment upon arrival. The unfamiliar requirement to surrender our room keys for each outing immediately raised red flags about privacy and security. Our initial excitement turned to confusion and concern as we discovered our room labeled as a single, despite booking a double. Despite our efforts to resolve the issue, the receptionist's indifferent attitude left us feeling frustrated and undervalued.
As I returned to our room, hoping for a reprieve from the day's disappointments, the phone rang. On the line, the receptionist informed me of a superior room's availability, albeit at an additional cost of €100 euros per night. I couldn't help but express my frustration – why should we, the customers, foot the bill for the hotel's mistake? I argued that the room should be provided at no extra charge. However, instead of understanding, I was met with resistance.
Despite finally securing a double room, the cramped space failed to meet our expectations, leaving us feeling cramped and uncomfortable. Throughout our ordeal, not once did the staff offer a sincere apology for the inconvenience we endured. While our holiday remained enjoyable despite the hotel's shortcomings, this experience has left a bitter taste in our mouths and dissuaded us from returning.
