We stayed here also a year ago and the hotel has definitely taken a turn for the worse. They have removed the front desk and replaced it with self check in iPads. Whoever thought of this should be fired immediately: a hotel relies on its personal touch and human interaction. I’m young and able, but no guest arriving after a long journey wants to fill out info on an iPad! Everything about our stay felt cheap. The hallway to our room was freezing. The duvets are so thin that we called (from our cell phone because there’s no phone in the room) for a second duvet, the floor in the bathroom is unheated and freezing, and I could go on. Our son with baby had a second room and they informed us in advance that they charge extra for a baby cot (unacceptable). There’s a coffee station in the lobby and it says with big letters that if you’re a guest staying in the hotel, you’re not allowed to use this coffee station (also unacceptable). It’s Christmas but not a festive chocolate in sight (I could swear there were chocolates last year at the front desk!). No welcome note or welcome gift in the room. Everything about our stay said that this hotel is past its prime and won’t survive. Our stay was just mediocre at best. One positive: the gin and tonic with berries in the bar is fabulous and the bartender was great (tip for the hotel: keep him).

the stay was good as always but be aware of following payment problem: When you pay in advance via Expedia, the hotel will require a full payment again during the internet check-in. Only when you ignore the complete electronic check-in via the net, you will have to pay the remaining local tax and “service” charge. So don’t respond to their continuous requests to check in up front when you have made a payment vie Expedia. It is an known error in their reservation system, so be aware!

Stay was generally good although Hotels.com didn't inform me that the pool was closed for renovation. The online room guide you're sent to suggests you can request different pillows but reception looked at me like it was the weirdest request and just said "all the rooms have the same pillow". Bathroom, while clean and absolutely fine, doesn't match the high decor standard of the rest of the room and the showerhead had a lot of timescale on but not a deal-breaker for me. Shampoo and conditioner don't really lather but that's probably hard water (causing aforementioned limescale). Room itself was nice, well decorated with a nice balcony. The sofa was particularly excellent for a hotel and very welcome. Staff were pleasant and helpful (except for the pillow situation). TV was good and Chromecast a nice feature although lacked instructions how to activate it. Air conditioning worked well in the heatwave. One minor maintenance issue with a wardrobe hinge but didn't impact me. Hotel itself is in a lovely neighborhood but is just that but too far from the city centre for my preference. Overall a good place to stay with a few minor drawbacks. We're it closer to the city centre I'd happily stay again at the price I paid.

Wonderful hotel, staff, location, ambiance, food all excellent. I've stayed at this hotel every time I venture to Apeldoorn, always had a great stay. This year the reception desk has been turned into a self service with help provided by friendly staff. Not sure this is an upgrade but it didn't detect from the experience.

The hotel was situated on the edge of Apeldorm in walking distance to Het Loo palace. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast and dinner were amazing. The staff were very kind and helpful. The environment was quiet and calm. Please note to have your room cleaned you have to scan a bar code and request it. The swimming pool was still under renovation. There is a little bus outside the hotel which takes you to the central train station and there was ample car parking.

The Hotel has introduced the self-check-in Terminal: Scan the QR Code, fill some details and receive your room key out of the machine, after you have paid for the tax and SERVICE CHARGE. This is outrageous: why should I pay €7,50 extra for self-service. It’s like a waiter who expects a tip when you order take-away food at a counter. I was so disappointed about this change from High level hotel to a Stay-OK hostel, but still charging full price. BTW, when I asked one of the staff members about this non-service charge, he didn’t know a decent answer and responded: “it’s for the pollution”??????????

Everything was excellent! The staff gave us a warm welcome and we appreciated they had prepared our room key and documents in advance. Beautiful hotel and amazing dining. Quiet room and convenient parking. Nice location next to the royal palace, can walk the gardens.

We are always disappointed when there are no rooms available in this hotel: it is our favourite location when we stay in Apeldoorn. Even when you stay for one night only without using additional services, the staff is super friendly and supportive.

The hotel itself was clean, had a large quiet room, plenty of parking. The staff were brusque and not very helpful or accommodating. I probably would not stay here again.

Stayed here before, prior to room renovations. Jr-Suite was delightful, like having a small apartment (no kitchen). Tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed and good size bathroom with bath and glass enclosed shower. Balcony with two chairs. Quiet, very pleasant hotel, caters to groups & meetings plus tourists visiting Paleis het Loo. Also close to Kroller-Mueller Museum. Dinner good, breakfast buffet good (great breads, mediocre scrambled eggs). Very good price to value. Parking should be free, or built-into the room price! Bilderberg has very good quality hotels.
