We had a LOVELY stay and the village, setting, and proximity to Chenonceau couldn't have been better. Very friendly staff and pretty hotel with a quiet garden pool.
Why 4 stars instead of 5? Because the hotel didn't seem to be a 5-star hotel. It was a very nice 4-star hotel at 5-star prices, and the rate didn't even include breakfast. The room, while pleasant, was not as luxurious as it should have been. Breakfast, while fine, likewise wasn't particularly memorable both in terms of food and the ambience of the dining room.
To be clear, nothing was wrong with the property. It just was a stretch to call it 5 stars and the price likewise seemed too high for the experience. But it was a lovely 4-stars and if the price had been a tad lower and more 4-star level, with breakfast included, I would have given it full marks here.
