Conveniently located for the old town and shops restaurants etc being a short walk. Basic but clean hotel. Some noise from the road outside from 8am.

Great breakfast, and quiet room tucked away from the main building. It was a nice idea to have a courtyard as well and not be too far from restaurants.

The rooms on the 1st floor were nice, better than other floors, and the breakfast was also good. Location good, with a municipal carpark opposite. However, the hotel room doors (heavy firedoors, of course) do not have silent closing on them, and the noise when everyone was going to bed, and getting up in the morning, was terrible! Impossible to sleep. Then in the morning they had no hot water anywhere in the hotel. We complained from 7.45am onwards, they gave us keys to other rooms, but nothing. By 9.30 it still wasn't fixed, and we had to be on our way. A real pity.

Location was excellent easy to reach from the train station and steps away from the center of town. Le Puy is a wonderful medieval city that offers spectacular monuments. I recommend the Demi-pension at the hotel as the restaurant quality and service was above average. I only wish the WiFi service was more consistent.

The hotel was convenient to the station and about 5 minutes walk from the old part of town. The welcome was friendly, the access to the room was through a courtyard that was rather untidy from fallen leaves. The stair carpet was very worn. The room was adequate, the bath had hair left by the last guest and the shower hose was operational but broken. Breakfast was adequate - I saw only one choice of cheese on the cheese plate and the coffee machine gave hot chocolate when the cappuccino button was pressed.

This was the start of a walk from Le Puy to Conques, which forms part of the Camino pilgrimage trail that goes all the way to Santiago de Compostela in north west Spain. Our stay was very pleasant, and the Hotel Bristol looked after us well, catered for us as vegetarians without any bother (being vegetarian is so often a problem in France) and is very good value for money. Recommended.

This hotel has a major problem. Wandering street gangs outside our window were noisy and rowdy for most of the night and city centre traffic was very noisy. The hotel parking advertised did not exist. We had to park some way away and we were apprehensive all night and left very early. We cannot recommend this hotel.

Great location, near th bus station and close to cultural sites. Quiet hotel. Wish that at least one person on staff speak some English. For a tourist town, shocked to see no one spoke a word of English or other language.

Excellent location for travellers arriving by train. Easy walk into old city and for sightseeing. Good value for meals and bar service. Staff were friendly and efficient with service levels consistent with previous visits.

Helpful staff. Would stay again, as room was a good size and quiet. Hotel was not serving dinners in April, and it was difficult to find restaurants/cafes open on Sunday.

Tired and grubby hotel struggling to keep pace with the demands of modern travellers. The lift is not for the convenience of the guests but for the staff who look on sympathetically whilst you hoist your luggage up three floors and they hog the lift with their laundry, towels and cleaning equipment. Don't stay there, you will only be disappointed.
