The location of the hotel is great. However, I have nothing else that is good to say about this hotel. For starters, the WiFi was only confined to the first floor and even then I had to go down to the front desk about the WiFi because I was having trouble getting on. When I went down to the front desk, I asked if there was an issue with the WiFi and only then was I told that the WiFi was broken. Two days later they did get it fixed, but the WiFi was still confined to the first floor. In addition, there was mold in the shower and bottom of the tub was peeling. Lastly, although the location of the hotel was great, the noise level was not due to hearing everything from outside and the thin walls that are inside so you could easily hear the noises that were happening from other guests rooms. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel unless if you don’t care about the WiFi. However, for people who need to do work while staying here, then this not an ideal place.

The hotel overbooked and they didnt have a room for us. However, upgraded us to windsor hotel just accross the road. The hotel was good and have free breakfast. But the noise from the street and pub was awful. People shouting screaming keeping as up all night til late.

Good location, commodities near by were excellent. One major issue is there was no internet in the room, only in communal place and it wasn't working.

It’s an old building but it was clean, staff were very friendly, everything was good, except that there’s no air conditioning and the fan was very noisy, another aspect is the beds are very hard, if they could change that, it would be great. Breakfast was excellent.

Good location, close to shops and the old town, with good resurants great food. There breakfast was a little bland even for continental. Very nice friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay. Many thanks to all x

It was nice but tv not working and shower water it was terrible i couldn’t wash my hair and my self properly and no mini fridge especially with this hot weather it will be nice to have small fridge to put drinks for the kids

They moved me due to overbooking to another Hotel the receptionist there had no idea and did get grumpy told him that's not my fault If I would have known that it only goes up and down the hill I wouldn't have moved and stayed downtown Funchal I asked at Greco twice how far it would be to walk as a local resident I guess he couldn't answer that question Next time I know and let someone else move

Pretty terrible rooms, old, gross, and the bathroom is awful. Also the worst bed i’ve ever laid on. Lots of tiny ants crawling around. Don’t stay here

Great place for a short stay. Generous room size. Pleasant and helpful staff. Location is superb, very central and walkable to places and it has supermarket next door which is very handy. Stay included breakfast with reasonable choices. Shower facilities needs maintenance as water pressure was very low, everything else is good and room had massive wardrobes and a lovely balcony.

After arrive receptionist told us, that they have overbooking and we need to stay in hotel sirius… We found it on Google maps, Greco has 4*, Sirius has 2* and it was visible. Loud, old, terrible… thanks god it was only 1 night.

Good hotel for people with limited budget

I liked terrace with a view of Funchal, it’s just sad that the toilet and shower has leaked, also when checking out I heard some s*x noises in near room (lmao) but everything was good.

The price was good for a 1 night stay and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Its related to the hotelbnext door. So we were able to transfer to it at no charge. The Greco is in dire need of upgrading.

Generally it was great. Things I liked: spacious, location, service. Things I disliked: only one socket in the room, no internet in the room

This property was very okay. In terms of cleanliness, our room had an abundance of ants and the bedding was stained in various places. There was no AC, which made it hot and sticky in the room. Very small/ dirty shower. Only two outlets to share between three people. On the other hand, the location was very nice, easy check in and they had an okay continental breakfast. One thing I found strange was that when you leave the hotel during the day, you have to leave your keys to the room at the front desk. Then when you go back you say your room number and show zero proof of who you are. Anyone could get into your room, and there isn't someone at the front desk 24/7 watching your room key. Overall, this property was okay, but I would not stay again.

Hotel basic, good if you’re on a budget. Easy for transport, shopping and sightseeing. Went to an enjoyable classical concert nearby.

I have never been in the worst hotel. I don’t understand how is passible that they have 4 stars shocking.Very dirty carpet with stains.Window doesn’t close I can’t sleep, you hear everything what is happening outside and inside as well.Definitely not recommended. Thank you
