Not Recommended for Family What we pay is what we get. Hong Kong is famous for its high rate of accommodation so Park Inn really stands out as an alternative for travelers with low budget like us. However, such low price comes with consequences: 1.Let’s start with the address. They are actually located inside the Chungking Mansion (they do not mention this in the website. For those of you not familiar with, Chungking Mansion is an old ghetto building with many “sketchy” people wandering around inside and outside selling things from fake watches to porn DVD & illegal toys (in the alley right besides it). I kid you not. Might be an okay spot for backpacker but definitely not kids friendly. 2.The room reminds me of cheap, low quality hostel that I’ve been stayed in North America. The room is incredibly small, smelly, damp, and the bed sheet is kinda dirty with lots of stain. Again, not kids friendly. 3. We stayed for 4 nights and while normal hotel would provide water bottle in daily manner, don’t expect this to happen during your stay in Park Inn. 4. The staff is probably underpaid and definitely not coming from hospitality background. Front desk person is generally friendly but the other guy, not really. There are times when we decided to never ask him about anything ever again. 5. The ventilation is not proper (we actually expected it) so if your close “neighbors” are doing their toilet business, you may expect the smell to reach you. Overall, if you are traveling alone with low budget and are used to cheap, low quality hostel, then Park Inn will fits you well. But if not (and especially if you have children with you), I suggest paying extra for finding better places.
