Nice stay

Nice, decent sized room; we had room with a balcony=nice; very good restaurant; very good breakfast; you need to keep the windows closed in the evening, otherwise flies will come in. Perhaps window screens would be a good idea.

Great food, location and service. Building is a little tired as 1930’s faded elegance although bathrooms have been upgraded to a good standard. Overall very pheasant

Good location and good structure. Unfortunately there is no air condition, and the night was quite hot.

Set just off the main road and an easy gentle walk into the small village centre where we had a great meal. Staff were great and the breakfast was great value.

Booked this last minute after arriving in Castellane to no rooms available.To be honest I was glad there weren't any as I really enjoyed this hotel. If you are looking for a genuine character French Hotel this is it. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and the bathrooms had obviously just been refurbished to a high standard. No air con which would have upped the rating but the views are splendid. Sitting on the terrace at the front looking at the mountains eating a simple but plentiful breakfast was extremely relaxing.This is an owner manager hotel and the owner is very pleasant. The girl behind reception was also excellent with my pigeon French and couldn't have been more helpful. Only downside was no restaurant facilities so you have to go into town. Would stay there again.

This hotel must have been grand in it's day but is now a little sad and tired. The exterior and public areas are very worn down and need serious repair, the grounds are overgrown and untended but the rooms are large and have had a modern upgrade so are very comfortable and clean. The setting of the hotel must have originally been perfect on the edge of the village and overlooking a beautiful lake but more recent development has infilled part of the outlook with a football pitch, emergency services buildings and a supermarket. Opposite the front of the hotel is the landing field for the paragliding school so this adds a very entertaining novelty to the hotel. The hotel restaurant closed two years ago and the only food served now is breakfast. The breakfast was good on our first day but the quantities reduced each day. On the second day I had to ask for the fruit salad bowl to be replenished but on the third day I was told very briskly that there "was no more" and the choice of bread was just a French stick. This put a dampener on our stay especially as there was a supermarket two minutes away selling fabulous fresh fruit - there really was no excuse to run out of such a basic and cheap commodity. The owner of the hotel speaks good English and was very helpful but we felt that he was no longer really interested in the hotel however the rooms were great, clean and comfortable which is probably the most important thing and we would be happy to return one day.

Very basic room but clean. Good stop for driving trip. Hotel is outside village and it's restaurant was not open for dinner when we were there, but good restaurant in village 5 minutes away.

Modest hotel with good food. The 'lakeview' rooms don't really have a view of the lake so not worth the extra euros. Decent room and bathroom.

Accueil tres chaleureux, petit dejeuner excellent avec produits du terroir, chambre spacieuse et tres propre, repas digne d'un chef étoilé et service impeccable

Schönes Hotel direkt am See. Die Ausstattung ist einem Haus diesen Alters gemessen. Alles war sehr sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Rad konnre in einem speziellen Abstellraum sicher untergebracht werden. Hervorzuheben ist das sehr gute Abendessen und Frühstück.

Eigentlich wollte ich mit meinem Motorradkollegen in Castellane übernachten, aber dort war alles ausgebucht. Aber hier auch ein schönes Hotel mit sehr guter Küche und leckerem Essen. Freundliches Personal und auch ein gutes Frühstück.

Excellent week-end avec un personnel super agréable. Le repas était digne d’un chef étoilé.

Et hotel der oser af historie Ja det er et gammelt hotel men det har charme og man fornemmer at her har mange siddet på terrassen og nyt sin morgenmad. Er du til paragliding så er dette hotellet du skal vælge Ejeren køre kurser i paragliding og da vi var der var et helt hold på kursus. Det var bare så anderledes i forhold til et “fint” hotel med 24 timers roomservice Det var lidt ligesom at være hjemme, skønt og afslappende Vi kom øvrigt kørende fra Spanien og havde lidt problemer med Vores Gps men vi fik god hjælp fra hotellet til af finde det. Vi kom efter midnat men de havde sørget for der lå en nøgle til os så vi bare kunne gå op på værelset. Tusind tak for opholdet Næste gang vi er i området så kommer vi helt sikkert forbi

Bella struttura in stile vacanza. Ottimo il ristorante.

Très bon hôtel, avec parking à l'arrière. Chambre et salle de bain bien refaites et propres. Chambre pas très grande mais confortable, avec télé pour pour ma part et prises électriques en nombre. Bonne literie et bon chauffage (je l'ai même coupé pour la nuit). Petit-déjeuner sucré et salé. Personnel fort agréable et souriant.
