Nice quite large, well equipped room. Very nice and helpful staff. Fantastic location just around the corner from the metro station and great shopping mall. Easy travel to all interesting locations.

Check in was easy. This is a Chinese hotel so kind of hard to find. Entrance is in back, not on the street. Relatively close to the Metro station, McDonald's, KFC and a few other places to eat. Also a Family Mart on the corner. Wi-Fi is spotty and slow. Breakfast was just OK. Not a lot of food out even at 6:45 but probably better later. Even in December the room was too warm for me, no A/C but the windows open and I just left them open all the time. Check out also easy.

The hotel said the room type we booked was not available and made us pay 200RMB for an upgrade. The wifi didn't work, the towels were soiled, and the bed frame was stained with dried s*men. Someone had spammed our room with flyers advertising "special services." This hotel is definitely not family friendly. Hotel management was extremely arrogant and didn't address our complaints.

It was a pretty good stay. We liked the location. It's very close to the Subway Line 2. It was a little hard to find the hotel entrance door when you get out from the subway station. All and all it's a good hotel.

This is not a hotel. it is a motel. the lobby is smaller than my family room. the beds re harder than a rock. They squeak like as you are sleeping on a plywood board. The room was cold no heat. no one spoke English. I think most of the motels in USA have better rooms and service.

This hotel is not far from Hongqiao airport and reasonably priced. However, this hotel does not primarily cater to foreigners so do not expect them to speak much English. Parts of this hotel seem recently renovated and parts seem old and poorly maintained. For instance, the bathroom seemed renovated and the breakfast area was well managed. The hallways had a smokey smell and the bed was not too comfortable. It was very close to the subway No. 2 line and had decent internet.

A WELL LOCATED HOTEL/ MOST OF THE STAFF CANT SPEAK ENGLISH / SOME ROOMS ARE GOOD / MANY ARE WITH BROKEN BED / BROKEN CURTAINS/ VERY HARD BAD WE CHANGED OUR ROOM TWICE BUT FOR THE PRICE AND NEARNESS TO MART/ CAN BE CONSIDERED THE INFORMATION ABOUT KITCHENETTE ON WEBSITE IS WRONG. THEY DO HAVE KITCHENETTE/ BUT STAFF SAYS ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO STAY FOR 1 MONTH TO GET UTENSILS/ WE SPENT 2 DAYS AIR CONDITIONING IN 1 ROOM WAS NOT WORKING/ WE SPENT THE NIGHT SWEATING

Good things: large comfortable room, nice sofa, clean and quiet hotel, good location near the subway, very good value for money. Bad things: fridge and kitchen not stocked, kettle and tea but no mugs or spoons, VERY noisy bed when it was rocking (ahem), a towel had a hole in it.

This highrise hotel located about 1-2 blockes from Line 2 in Shanghai was very convenient for our short stay in Shanghai. Line 2 allowed us access to both the downtown Bund area plus the airports (especially the Hongqaio airport) and the railroad terminal. There was also shopping and access to restaurants in the area. Even though we weren't in the downtown we still enjoyed the view from the window and we enjoyed the less hectic atmosphere of this neighborhood. If you do take the subway to terminal 1 at the Hongqaio airport and have only a one time pass remember to stay on the subway until it reaches the railway station stop. You can then transfer to line 10 to reach the airport.

At this price, I don't think you can find any other hotels in Shanghai with this quality service. Try it to believe it.

Good location. Hotel staff are helpful and friendly. Value for money. Neat and clean. Only feedback was to have the choice of 2 single beds in the deluxe room.

I was on a business trip in Shanghai in mid-Sept and has decided to extend my stay in Kingtown for another two days for the sightseeing with my Shanghai colleagues. Hotel room furniture looks old & tired and vanity top need to renovate seriously to give a better look. e.g. the drawer is not in good shape, giving way when try to open it. There is a kitchen cabinet with no cooking utensils for warming up food. Cooking stove is not in working condition. Sockets near the desk cannot be plug properly and need to connect the extended cable near the TV set to the desk. Overall review - this room no 1705 seriously need to renovate in order to give more comfort and attract more future tourist to stay in this hotel.

I have never had a more uncomfortable night in a hotel. The bed was nothing more than a box spring. I had to get up and sleep on the love seat to get any comfort. Also, the hotel clearly catered to prostitutes, with condoms in the room. I had asked for non-smoking, but the whole hotel smelled, and it permeated my room. I had booked 2 days. After that first night, I let them keep the other half of my money, and I checked in to the Courtyard Marriott. Don't stay at the Kingtown Hotel.
