Bar staff were friendly

Fabulous old palace containing the bar, restaurant and lounge areas, whilst the rooms are in a modern new wing decorated with interesting modern art. Appreciated the tray of crackers, cheeses and cold cuts that were waiting for us in the room. Comfortable room, fantastic view. Good btreakfast and lovely helpful staff.

Great stay, very clean and welcoming. Great breakfast - parking very convenient. Quiet a little way out from the city but with a car great. Would certainly stay again.

The house keeping could be better. We always found hair in the corners etc. There were also some ants in the bathroom and the room.

one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in.everything was wonderful. BUT the hotel correctly notified us that we had to check out for real at noon because of an incoming wedding party. Which is fine, But it did not tell us in advance that we would have to off the property at noon. In the past I sould alwasy stay at the health club until my flight. instead I spent 4.5 not very pleasant hours in the main hall of the airport, with my luggage keeping me anchored. The hotel is well within its rights to kick us out at the check out time, but should have warned us.

Clean modern rooms in a separate block to the original small palace. Nice pool area and good breakfast buffet. Not quite the same standard of service as would be typical in a 4* e.g. they did not replenish the coffee pods for the Nespresso machine

Excellent property off the beaten path - great for a close option near the airport. Really cool museum meets modern hotel vibe. Pool is really relaxing and you can enjoy a drink/quick bite. There is a restaurant within the palace that has cute little cats running around. Super unique spot!

Chaotic check-in. Only one staff dealing with people checking in and tourists trying to pay to see the gardens. Hotel nice but seemed disorganized and understaffed. Pool area is nice but very busy. Good option to be close to airport for an early flight. Breakfast was nice.

Wish we stayed here longer! Everything about this place was beautiful! Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Views and palace area are beautiful. Restaurant food is excellent. But having cats fighting and begging for food all over the dining area not very pleasant. Waitstaff needs massive training on not forgetting to check on their tables and not to blame each other in front of clients over lapse of service. Cataplana and desserts were delicious. But had to go into the waiters station looking for waiters to order dessert as we were given the menu but it was at the end of the night and the kitchen closed before anyone came to take our order. Very unfortunate. Gratitude to the kitchen staff that opened the kitchen and send us up two amazing desserts and a coffee. Thanks to the waiter that offered a liquor with the expresso. Love staying at Pestana Group Pousadas but the service and lack of attention to detail was very disappointing.I sneezed nonstop as well as other people walking around the carpets or maybe was the presence of so many cats on the premises. The Palace has so much beauty in the historic buildings but the rooms need updating and removing the worn out carpets may be an easy fix. Still a beautiful place and with a lot of potential but more care and attention to detail as well as cleanliness would make the experience much more memorable. Training restaurant staff to provide better quality of service would be nice too because the food was excellent. Kudos to the Chef and his staff. Maybe learn from Pousada Flor de Rosa, Crato how to make clients feel valued to return.

Property is pretty old and lots of cats. Not every tourists are pet friendly. Excellent staffs and beautiful views

This is our 3rd visit and we have always felt very comfortable and very friendly, however the only thing we found this time was the dinner menu was different. We found that the dinner menu was very limited and could have done with more choices for mains and desserts. That would be our only criticism as it was much less variety than from our original stay in 2021.
