Easy to find, decent size car park (£5/night) Automated check-in but with staff on hand. Lift to room. Decor very tired in communal areas. Room size ok, mattress hideously uncomfortable and shower was poor. Food was OK, service could have been friendlier but was efficient. Express checkout was handy

I’ve stayed a few times at this hotel to attend a course near the hotel. The hotel met my expectations every time. Although this time my room was on the lower level and I couldn’t find it after self check in. The signage of room numbers on this level could be better. I eventually found a member of staff who assisted me. Thank you.

advertised as 'full refurnished bedrooms', the work was still being done, corridor and stairs to my room were stripped of carpet and v dusty. the room had not been refurnished and was very tired/in need of refurbishment. TV in room had no reception. I asked for another room and was told they had no more/fully booked.

Unfortunately as a regular guest of the Village hotels the recent stay was not as good. The rooms while they have been refurbished the finishing seem to have not been completed. Marks of silicone, rough edges and many things were unfinished as such it felt as if the builders were still working.

Myself and 2 kids ages 10 and 12 paid £120 for one night which is pretty expensive but the photos looked nice and the facilities. We were charged extra for use of the pool, which they accidentally charged me twice for. This was refunded however. The rooms are bog standard but clean. Upon returning to our room after using the pool in the evening, the key card didn’t work. Our room was quite a distance from the reception so I headed back down and was given a replacement card. Went back to the room, the card still didn’t work so I made my way back to reception again. I’m heavily pregnant and was feeling a bit off at this point, I just wanted to lie down. A member of staff then had to accompany us back up to the room to change the batteries on the door. The family changing rooms at the pool are tiny with a toilet in them and the floor was covered in pee and stunk. The second time using the pool I didn’t feel well enough to swim but sat at the side and watched my kids have a swim. It lasted 10 minutes before they were kicked out because I wasn’t in the water with them. There is no deep end. The depth is 1.2 metres. They’re able swimmers and can easily stand in the water. Several staff remembers stood watching for safety and me keeping an eye on them. Breakfast would’ve been an additional £30 on top of the £120 for the room so we didn’t bother. Not the worst hotel I’ve been to but certainly won’t be using village hotels again.

All staff were excellent. Especially the manager on duty at 6pm and the lady supervising the pool, she was exceptionally helpful. I have a mobility issues. I was shocked at having to pay to park my car for an overnight night stay. A first for me. Will give the hotel a miss next time for that reason.

On one of the days when we were using the pool couldn’t believe how cold the pool was. When we asked the life guard why it was so cold he said the boiler had broken the day before that’s why the water temperature had cooled. This was very disappointing as we were not made aware when we signed in to use the leisure facilities .

Arrived at tea time, check in straight forward member of staff very helpful, went to room very disappointed as it was a cold evening and room was very cold. Went for food was informed no need to book, wrong, eatery was packed only 1 wonky table available but was able to swap to another soon after ordering. Menu not great ok if you love burgers/pizza.. settled down for sleep around 10pm but must have been above or very close yo function room as DJ & music was extremely loud. Managed to fall asleep as we were exhausted. Woke late but breakfast still being served, enjoyed cooked breakfast whilst hubby had cereal and croissants. Didn’t feel rushed which was a bonus. Checked out at 11 and left. Overall stay was good unsure if we would stay again thought some of the party nights looked good.

A bit annoyed. Made a mistake and booked the week after via hotels.com on a no refund rate. The hotel were inflexible about allowing me to adjust the date on the booking so I had to rebook and pay again. Parking charge of £5 a night was unexpected and unreasonable. Paid for an upgraded room with gym access, but shouldn’t have as you can just pay £5 to access the gym. Breakfast finishes quite early at 9:30am. Buffet was not replenished at 9am and nobody advised you can ask for eggs made to your liking. Rooms freshened up but a bit noisy. Food in restaurant decent but a bit over priced.

My stay at the hotel was perfect apart from 1 aspect. I went out for a cigarette and walk at 10pm ish, I ended up being chased my an intoxicated man who tried to assault me. Upon returning to the hotel I ran to my room. Obviously the assault was not your fault however I realised the security on the hotel is almost none existent. There are key card for getting into rooms however absolutely nothing preventing a random member of the public from walking those corridors to the rooms as it is all open access. I think the open foyer creates a really welcoming aspect but the lack of security on doors there after is extremely worrying. I was on pins all night worried he may have followed me and there was nothing stopping him from getting to my room. I think extra fob points at main doors to rooms are a MUST.

Long walk to the room dingy corridors and smelt of cigarette smoke. Carpets need renewing and pillows was hard and bed not comfy. Small room and bathroom small no glasses in the bathroom. Hospitality tray not very well equipped. Thin walls making it very noisy. Not worth what we paid for the room allocated. Over priced and outdated!! £100 a night and not including breakfast for the room.
