Wonderful! Wonderful!

Had a fantastic stay here! Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the hotel was really cozy. The views from the room were stunning, but even if your room doesn't face the hills, there are benches and tables by reception where you can sit and enjoy it. Siena is an awesome place with tons to see, but if I could do it again, I'd book an additional day couple days just for relaxing and enjoying the Tuscan atmosphere. This hotel is the perfect place to do that.

As other reviewers said, walls are thin and you hear noises from rooms around you. The space is tiny, shower is a cubicle it would be better the box wasn't there at all. But nice views and good location if you come by car as it saves you parking

Great property with very comfortable bed. Outstanding location that is very walkable into Sienna. Their restaurant was closed, but offered recommendations to wonderful locations to eat nearby.

Great little hotel with fantastic view and easily walkable into Siena. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Stayed one night and loved it so much we came back and stayed another night.

As we were staying longer than others we were given a secluded room but the mattress did not suit me.The staff were very obliging in giving us a choice of other rooms . Great views from the windows and balcony with many seating areas. I stayed here several years ago and the facilities have been expanded. The breakfast, however, wasn't that good as the quality of the food was not commensurate with the other facilities.

Great hotel! The rooms were simple, clean, and more than adequate. The parking was very good. The hotel is on a busy Siena street close to all the sites but once you enter the drive you are looking at a serene and spectacular landscape with no noise from this busy and bustling city.

Porta de Roma was a true gem. The hotel was everything it seems and beyond. The reception desk was incredibly friendly and made sure to tell us all about Sienna and the best spots. The breakfast area was so adorable and thoughtfully set up. You can walk into the main square of Sienna within 10 minutes. Amazing experience.

Friendly helpful staff. Lovely breakfast in garden room. Didn't realise the jacuzzi was extra, could have that information in bedroom. Short walk in to Siena, but very accessible

The hotel is quite basic but met our needs and expectations fully. We arrived in the afternoon and left early the following morning so weren’t looking for a five star experience.

The hotel is incredible, large spacious room, great views and excellent price. The breakfast was lovely with a large variety and great service. I cannot fault the hotel or it service in anyway. If you want a great stay close to the centre of Siena make this your stop

Our first night was in a small room 30+ temp and no AC we asked to be moved and they upgraded us to a room twice as big with ac it was heaven so check before you book what type of room you have

Lovely building in lovely position, a shortish walk fro the centre & free parking onsite. Lorenzo on the desk was extremely helpful with advice & restaurant recommendations. The room was clean but in need of updating - especially the rather basic shower! Breakfast was very basic but that’s normal in Italy I suppose, with lots of sweet cakes etc but very limited bread/cheese etc. I thought the hotel was overpriced for what we got but Siena is pricey anyway and was among the cheaper we researched!!!

Hotel Porta Romana is a 3* hotel with free parking located just outside the city walls (and the ZTL). The centre is about a 15 minute walk up a gentle slope. There is a breakfast room, but no restaurant. It has outstanding views from the terrace and many rooms of the rolling countryside. Friendly, helpful staff. Would return 

Nice hotel, located near old city (walkable). Beautiful sight of the fields.

The hotel had concrete and tiled floors so you could here every footstep and the doors had no closing dampers so they slammed a lot , which is lovely when you are asleep Otherwise a charming hotel with an exceptional view

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for friendly staff, a reasonably spacious room by European standards and, in our case, with a magnificent view! It's also a very short (and only slightly uphill) walk to Piazza del Campo!

The hotel was perfect for a visit to Siena. The location was right outside the walled city and an easy walk into the city center. The hotel offered free parking. The staff was friendly and helpful. The views from the room were amazing. We saw deer in the trail below the spa. Breakfast was good.
