Disappointing stay. It felt like a B grade Parador, with sections cordoned off. Room with view over motorway didn’t help. While loading cases into car, the grass sprinkler system came on, soaking me, my cases and the boot of the car. All round, just a bit tacky.

Wonderful parador at the edge of town. Easy to access from the main road and easy walk to the center of town. Free parking on site. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispenser. Lotion dispenser, bar of soap, comb and shower cap also provided. Refrigerator and safe in room. We didn’t eat at the restaurant on site. Instead, we had tapas at La Alameda near Iglesia de San Nicolas—fabulous molleja (sweetbread) and tinto de verano (similar to sangria).

There is nothing to dislike, unless you don't like walking. It is about a 10 minute walk to the centre of town.

Typical for a Paradore. Everything you need is available. The indoor pool is not huge but better than nothing. Covered outside parking was good for me. Access to the centre of the town is a short flat walk.

Overwhelmed staff, and except for breakfast (excellent) food is overpriced and not very good. Hotel is comfortable and elegantly furnished, an awesome location... but internet did not work, which was a serious problem for us. It did work across the road at Hotel Rebeca where the food also was much better so we spent most of the time there.

This is one of the nature paradores. It is between mountains and the beautiful vineyards of the Bierzo valley on the Camino Santiago de Compostelo. The town of Villafranca del Bierzo is charming, The property is lovely. The rooms are very nice and guest needs are anticipated. The breakfast buffet is lavish-a bit pricey. The restaurant as a full menu for other meals. I definitely recommend this hotel.
