Perfect spot for a place to stay

I enjoyed my stay at the The Rex and it fitted my purpose very well. Well located. AC was great and the staff are really nice and friendly. I'm consider staying there for my next trip to Toronto in September. Cheers!

Air conditioning in the room sounded like a jet engine . Would love to see the staff maintain AC units . We put the “please clean room” door tag on multiple days and only had the staff come in and clean on one of the days. It was also really hard to sleep with the music from the jazz club downstairs . Not going to stay here again even for the reasonable price point … there much nicer hostel style locations in TO

I was pleasantly surprised to find the room extremely clean, and there was no noise from other guests. I was on the 3rd floor, and I wore earplugs at night because of the street noise (which is bad everywhere in the downtown, regardless of hotel). Staff were friendly and helpful. The twin bed was very comfortable and pillows were as great. The toilet was across the hall, full bathroom with shower down the hall. For the price, I was very impressed, and the location was perfect for a conference at the Sheraton.

Perfect if you just need a hotel room as a home base. Great access to the rest of the city

Room was clean, but aged. Toilet paper ran out in the bathroom but they were prompt to replace it. Would stay again!

Awesome vibe, great music. The room was nice pretty much what I expected small clean well appointed. Staff was very helpful.

Basic room, but clean, the jazz bar is great, had drinks and snacks there, the area is quite noisy, but is a central city location

Centrally located, good price and meets the requirement of a bed and shower. No frills hotel in Toronto at a reasonable rate.

While the room was clean, and the staff very nice, there was as no hot water in the shower and no breakfast and no air conditioning.

The property is close to all the locations which are within walking distance which is the best part. The property was clean with friendly staff. No breakfast. Air conditioning is old and makes lot of noise. In a way, it is ok as you won't hear any outside noise! No private washrooms in the room. Have common washrooms. Rooms have washbasins. No elevator. Good to place to stay for quick visits/short stays.

The staff was vey nice and friendly and it was fun to be at a jazz venue.

Great location, nice room, but they need to make it more obvious that there are shared bathrooms on the floor. It was fine, but I wasn't prepared.

The room and bathroom are small because it an old building. We felt we got at least what we paid for. It was great to be in walking distance of CNTower, Roger’s Stadium, etc. The jazz bar was cool as well. The smallness of the room meant your suitcases had to be on the bed to access them. Great staff.

The hotel location is good, the staff is good, but shared restroom and bathroom…..ouch
