We were not too impressed. The building and rooms are beautiful, but it is old as suggested. The rooms have no airconditioning, it was extremely warm when we entered the room. Tried to open windows, but one of them would not stay open so had to put our own small carton box inside it to prevent the window from falling down again. The vanity sink would not drain properly, the shower door was stuck and needed some force to get it open. Not very clean either; spiderwebs on the inside of the window and a thick layer of dust on top of the wooden venetian blind above the bed. We paid NZD 328.00 a night and we were then told that breakfast was not included. All in all we found it very underwhelming for the money we paid

The staff were excellent. The dinner was a real treat. The hotel it self was lovely but a little noisy at night and early in the morning.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Our room was clean with a lovely comfortable bed. The Manor is a 15 minute flat walk to the main centre and has a lovely, old world charm with the furnishings add to this feel.

The room was fine but the windows could do with being repaired as they don't stay open so you have to jam a shoe in them to get some air! The staff were all fantastic but then they were all French and therefore used to providing good service! It's undoubtedly the best hotel in Strahan and I'd certainly return. It's just a shame that their restaurant is closed on Mondays which was the very day we needed it.

For the price we paid we were not very impressed. The TV was not working and we had to call for assistance. The shower door was very tight and difficult to shut. There were no spoons to stir your tea or coffee and it appears that we were charged $10 for a little bit of milk. We asked for plates to have some take away food and were given bread and butter plates. The reception fellow seemed to be looking after everything and was run off his feet. The only chairs provided were very fancy but not very comfortable. On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable, the shower nice and hot and the room and house was very beautiful.

A fascinating place to stay - it is more than just a room. If you want your own private space to chill out, then the Manor is for you. Playing chess, reading a book, just chilling out in front of a wood fire or catching up on the history of the place, the Manor is perfect, as is the service.

The rooms are small but the overall building is amazing. Great old building, wonderful sense of history, Nice fires and feeling to the place. We were the only guests, it was winter but I think it had only just re-opened. The manager was very hospitable, was missing a few ingredients for my partners cocktails but the place had a great feel.
