Very expensive for what it is - €303 for a night, no evening meal - then €14 for a breakfast - hotel / rooms very dated - not recommended

The staff are really nice, helpful people. The breakfast was a bit rubbish, next to no hot option. It is open 5am -10am I think. I qas £150 a night for a tiny room with no a/c and a single bed. Pretty sure i was bitten by bed bugs but i can't prove this, i may have been bitten from something while walking round town. €25 for a laye checkout seemed fair. Location is as central as it get. Theres a lively sitting area out the front, perfect for a beer in the sun or some food ( i only ate breakfast so camt comment on the food)

Rooms are more like stalls with no amenities; for condition, service and appearance way overpriced

I was there on a business trip for 3 nights and enjoyed the stay, it has a basic feel but the service was good and friendly however the hotel itself lacked amenities. Very close to the train station and taxi rank. Seating outside was alright too.

I was given a room on the ground floor and when I have to open the window to let in the fresh air, I'm facing the car park and dustbin. The rooms also need serious renovation.

In the center of Den Helder and a close drive to the ferry to Texel which is convenient. Breakfast was nice.

Arriving after a slow train/bus journey from Schipol, I was very disappointed with the first room I was offered. Strange arrangement in which you ascend one floor using an ancient lift, and find your way to an outside area through an inconspicuous door. The room reminded me of a 1970s backpacking hostel...perhaps in Athens! All electrical infrastructure through exposed conduits and a prominent, exposed pipe attached to the sprinkler system...very ugly and slightly spooky. Terrible peeling and cracked anaglypta wallpaper, too! So I asked to change room to something suitable for a business trip. The staff member agreed immediately. The second room was much nicer...though still with the weird approach from the outside area with dark quirky (Indonesian?) style furniture. Unusual decor but but I quite liked it. The problem was, without warning me, they added an extra 10 EUR per night...not much, I suppose, but an unwanted surprise on the bill. As there are few hotels in Den Hagen, you may have little choice but to stay here. If you do, be certain not to accept Room 120 and make sure you agree the price of any upgrade they offer you up front!

Overall the stay was good. The breakfast was basic (above average scrambled eggs). The beer selection was minimal. The downside of the hotel rooms - no air conditioning. Not a bad thing in the winter however in the summer it was uncomfortable. Windows in bottom floor rooms can only be opened a crack so air flow is next to nill. At night I felt like I was in a low heat oven. outside temps were 80-90 degrees F.
