As a solo traveller I was glad to find affordable single person accommodation. However the single rooms are downstairs and there is no balcony, or view or even a proper window. It is possible to be outside but it’s a terrace walkway between buildings. I am sure the upstairs rooms are much better. Excellent breakfast tho the buffet is waiter controlled creating much comedic confusion. Breakfast is ok tho. No tea / coffee machine in room and I’d been used to that in my other rooms in Italy. AC slow but quiet and did work. Take mozi repellent and plug in as there were plenty about but by being prepared I had no issues. Beach accessible from hotel via a private access. Loungers are not part of the hotel. Reasonable prices. Good location to get around Ischia and the town is lovely. Lots of really good restaurants. Bed was NOT comfortable- needs a new mattress but it didn’t break me All in all it did what it needed to and gave me somewhere to wash and sleep and base myself from to enjoy the island at an affordable price.

We loved the area so much. Great place to stay. 13 min walk from ferry, 1 min to beach and 3 min walk to shops. Staff was kind and we especially enjoyed our Italian lessons with Danilo at breakfast. Wifi was spotty in our room

It was a nightmare. I booked this place for 3 nights. I was given basement room, air conditioning was not working and it was hard to breath there. After sleeping 2 hours i woke up with bites all over my body. The room was infested by mosquitoes. This was first time in my life that during my 50 years of travelling I would check out after one night stay. The man at front desk was surprised. I asked him to go to look the room. He didn’t go. His only interest was to charge me 3 nights. No apology.

I'd like to give five ***** to the Hotel Rivamare. I am a solo traveler, I had a small size of room, it was very clean and quiet. At the breakfast room, the service was excellent! Close to the ocean that I went to walk on the sand beach in the morning and night. Short distance by walk to the port & bus stations. Near this hotel, there is nice coffee cafe, restaurants, mini market and a gift shops. I was so happy to choose the Hotel Rivamare.

We have stayed here before and loved it, but we came here in June, not the end of September. Before I book anything I always make sure that the air conditioning will be on, IT wasn't!!! Asked for a fan, got one, it didn't work for me or the desk manager when I took it down. Thankfully it was cooler that night and we left the inside doors open and outside doors that had screens on them closed, we were comfortable. Unfortunately, we had mosquitos that night and my wife's face had 13 bites on her face which made her look like she had the measles and I had only 8 on my forehead. Where did they come from, we don't know...point - if we had A/C it probably would not have happened. The breakfast bar wasn 't like before, not as many things to pick from etc.. Let me say, the first evening was great, we got to lounge at the beach for a few hours, had a Great lunch/early dinner at the restaurant on the beach by the hotel, it was really great! Unfortunately it rained for 2 days, we needed the rest anyway.

Location is perfect, right on the beach through a little gate and selected pizzeria and beach clubs offer discount when you mention being hotel's guest. Service is good and staff is very helpful. Our room, unfortunately, was not what we expected. We booked a parterre economy room which means ground floor (french word) but instead it was lower ground with only a small window high up which we couldn't open and an unpleasant smell of sewage coming from the small, crammed bathroom. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the furnitures old and smelly. Definitely need an update.

A good stay in general. The location is great - between the beach and Ischia Porto's main shopping street and only 10-15 minutes' walk from the port. Breakfast was ok (the view makes up for a bit of a limited choice) and the staff were nice, particularly the guy who works nights and covers breakfast. Wifi was very weak in our room but excellent in the breakfast/reception area. The beds were quite hard. Our bathroom didn't have a window and ventilation was bad with some drain smells but apart from that cleanliness was great. Some kind of drying rack for the window would have been useful as we didn't have a balcony and it was difficult to dry swimwear etc. Good for the price I paid on a beautiful island.

Hotel Rivamare was great. Good location right on a beach, close to lots of shopping and restaurants. Breakfast included was great! The only complaint we had was some of the other guests were very noisy, crying children in the hallway and lobby at all hours. The hotel did their best to try to fix this situation. They even moved us to another floor so we wouldn’t have to be so close to them.

The staff is very nice, kind, and professional. This place has a comfortable feel about it with a summer beach vibe. The entire place is very clean with great tile work throughout, a nice balcony overseeing the sea where you can have a nice drink in the evening or enjoy a great breakfast in the morning. They have a great selection of fresh fruit in the morning, melons, peaches, plums, like whole fresh fruit, not from the can. The beach is about 3 seconds away, literally out the back gate. If you are looking for a really great place to stay then book here. We stayed for 4 days and could stay for another week. All the shops are along the main road which is aboit a 2 minute walk away. It was an easy 15 min walk from the ferry with clear signs leading the way. We will be back.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Rivamare. Our room was comfortable and clean with a lovely view of the water, we enjoyed our delicious complimentary breakfast every morning on their terrace overlooking the ocean! I CANNOT say enough about the kindness and helpfulness of the staff here (thank you Patrizio!!), they were all so friendly and happy to give directions or recommendations or assistance with bags. You cannot beat the location--close to Ischia Porto and the main drag of the island, and not a long walk to the Castle or the bus to head to the thermal spas or to hike Epomeo...not to mention you can walk right out the back of the hotel and on the beach! They even held our bags for us after checkout and let us use a shower and towels so we didn't have to miss one last chance to enjoy the beach before we left for Naples. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends and hope to return before too long!

Had a very nice stay at Hotel Rivamare. Lovely room with a beautiful view of the beach from the balcony, very clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well, and good tv...news channel in English. Very kind staff. Close to the beach, and not far from the shops in Via Roma. Very convenient as close to the Port if you are travelling. Lovely breakfast, especially sitting on the terrace listening to the sea in the morning. Beautiful. Will definitely stay again. :)

Hotel Rivamare was a 10 minute stroll from the port if Ischia. Check in was welcoming and friendly. Our room was a room without a balcony and exceeded our expectations. Spacious and clean with plenty of storage space. The usual extras (Air conditioning and safe) came free of charge. The hotel is practically on the beach which was ideal after spending a week travelling around italian cities. We didn't bother with sunbeds as there is a public part of the beach and sunbeds were 20 euros plus and often fully reserved as we stayed during the week of Ferragosto. Breakfast at the hotel was continental and very well stocked, lovely breakfast terrace with a view of the sea. There was even little bags so you take away snacks for the day although we didnt as we enjoyed stepling off the beach for lunch in a restaurant. The only thing I missed was a toaster. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Rivamare, you made us feel very welcome and we loved our stay 😊

Rivamare Hotel is within one block of the pedestrian only area of Ischia Porto with a lovely private beach. We were there for 3 nights and highly recommend spending a bit more for a balcony room like we did. The breakfast that was included was generous...pastries, fruits, breads, cereals, etc. and a coffee machine where you can select espresso, cappuchino & other types plus they provided prepared sandwiches and a sack to pack them in for lunch! They also have an agreement with 2 local restaurants for a discounted meal. All in all, a great experience.

Brilliant service by all staff (5* hotels could learn a lot from Riva mare), always friendly and go out of their way to help in any way possible. Location was great, right on the beach, close to port and main bus station. I would give this hotel a 100% rating except for the single bed which was not the most comfortable (a little bit short and not the most comfortable), but in all other aspects this hotel was exceptional!
