Hard to know where to start. I booked this room for 3 nights in early June.
I think it really depends what you are looking for and what kind of experience you want to have while you are here. June is still not considered summer so it seemed that most of the pool and grounds were not trimmed or cleaned for the summer crowd.
It seems like foreign visitors is not their preferred choice of guests.
The rooms seemed a bit dated and overall the hotel seemed quite old.
The bed was comfortable.
The hotel was 5 minute walk from the train so that was nice and located very close to the beach park (closed @5) don’t expect to stay for sunset.
The staff was very attentive to all guests but seemed quite more active towards Japanese guests. Seems more a hotel for families and events.
The hotel did have what looked like nice restaurants but quite expensive. They also did offer room service (no experience).
I was disappointed they didn’t offer coffee or tea for guests in the lobby or have place for guests to relax downstairs. I understand it’s a resort and this is maybe not the style.
My score may have been lower but there were a few highlights I did enjoy. The larger rooms were quite nice (while I may have heard pigeons on the roof). Also the best part was probably the onsen. Unfortunately one of my trips to the onsen did not happen despite it being 10:25pm (supposed to be open until 11pm) but was closed already. I did enjoy many other times and would say one of my favorite experiences so far. Quiet and not many people (likely seasonal). With large space in the pool and changing rooms.
Overall- take the good with the bad.
One more note- the outdoor smoking area is 15 feet to the right of the main entrance. Small area right between the area where people exit the hotel and walk to their car- which seems to create a conflict of interest with kids and families wanting to walk to the hotel. Maybe move to a different location? Got many bad looks from other guests for smoking- while in the smoking area. I think both smoking and non smoking guests would appreciate it being in a different location.
