A great remote, quiet and serene facility with beautiful views. The facility has five beautiful waterfalls within the property that are nice to visit. The unit was nicely furnished, and had a unique colors and furnishings. The drawback was that it was a little far from any walkable restaurant or other facilities, no television inside the rooms, no air conditioning just the fan, and the water pressure in the bathroom was horrible. Barely a little dribble of water would come out of the showerhead. It was brought to the attention of the hotel staff, but they stated that that is as good as he got. I might consider staying at this facility again if I cannot find something better in the area.

Xandari was awesome! We loved the villa, the property, the people and the food! The views are spectacular and food was super fresh. My family loved the spacious villa and walking around the grounds. It’s also very convenient to the San Jose airport. We loved it so much we came back at the end of our trip to stay another couple of nights!

Favorite hotel in the city!!!

Beautiful hotel and grounds, fabulous room! Restaurant service wasn't fast but food was good. Lovely hiking trails, I even saw toucans! Only downside was the spa was closed for maintenance and we planned a day in the spa. They did offer in room massage which was lovely

Our stay at Xandari Resort was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We missed our flight and arrived a day late, but they were extremely accommodating and helped us reschedule without any hassle — a huge relief after a stressful travel day. The food at the resort was amazing — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. One of the standout experiences was discovering that they brew their own IPA, which was such a unique and memorable touch. The views from both our room and the dining area were breathtaking — lush greenery and sweeping landscapes that made every moment feel serene and special. Honestly, the pictures on Expedia don’t do it justice. The real experience far exceeds what you see online. They should definitely update them! Highly recommend Xandari to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with exceptional service, food, and scenery.

Rooms need to be updated and modernized. Lavatory fixtures were loose. The pillows were terrible. Coffee provided in the rooms was decaf only. The shower was great!

It is nice until it rains. Our room was covered in bugs. They were even in our bed. We left 2 days early.

As soon as we arrived to the airport, our transportation to Xandari was there with a sign and my name, the driver spoke Spanish and English & helped us ease in to speaking more Spanish with him in a very helpful way. Upon arriving we were waiting for our room, so we had breakfast, Delicious!! And too many options to have them all in one day, glad we had breakfast there 2 mornings. Then we were accommodated by our room being offered to us early, since it was available. We had a hot tub & massage session that morning that was exactly what our travel worn bodies wanted! So greatful. We were offered to plant.a young tree for us to visit in future years- what a great experience and way to help us connect to the ecology of Costa Rica! The staff were very helpful & friendly. I cannot wait to return to see our tree, relax & enjoy Costa Rica again.

Stunning property 15 minutes from airport. You are surrounded by incredible foliage, gorgeous landscapes, incredible views and a one of a kind spa with views. And of course, Tico hospitality! Thank you. We’ll be back!

This is the second time that I have stayed at Xandari. This resort is absolutely incredible. From the staff to the grounds to the amenities. It will always now be a stop I make either on my way in or out of San Jose. The food is amazing. The staff is so kind and helpful. The whole place is just absolutely stunning. And let’s talk about that view. I didn’t have a chance this time to do the waterfall trail that I did last time and they are amazing as well. Don’t even consider it- just book it!!!

Pros: Beautiful property. Great staff. Cons: NO AIR CONDITIONER!!! Noisy from animals and airport and vehicles

We stayed in Villa 20 next to Pool 2. The villa was nice but Pool 2 was not open (completely drained). There was no air conditioning so we opened our windows only to hear dogs barking constantly, including all night long. It made it hard to sleep. Dinner was expensive and there wasn’t a varied drink menu. Our waiter was not very friendly. The sunset pool was nice but there was a family with 5 kids that were loud and were also loud at dinner too. The highlights were the beautiful trails, farm to table animals, beautiful landscaping, and the best complimentary breakfast. Other than that a little disappointed for price.

An amazing property to stay at if you have a quick 24-36 hour layover in Costa Rica. The staff is polite and attentive, the rooms are incredibly designed to provide a cultural feel with eco sensitivities, and the best part is that the property has about 2-3 hours of hiking available on the grounds Will come back next time I'm flying through SJO
