This Hotel/Onsen was very relaxing with nice facilities. The Mikimoto pearl shampoo and body wash that was provided in each room was amazing. The Onsen options was amazing as well the Breakfast and dinners was very high quality and delicious. The shuttle that runs you to the station every hour was very convenient and on time. We had a fantastic stay.

There was limited American food on the buffet, but the food that was offered was good quality. The Asian options were extensive but for breakfast they do not appeal to us, however we do love Asian foods for lunch and dinner.

Wonderfully traditional Japanese hotel with moderately Western beds. Attractive common areas. Option to have an excellent Western and Japanese-option breakfast at the nearby sister hotel was much appreciated. Beautiful setting. Extremely convenient to town. Excellent shuttle.

This hotel had some lovely highlights, but it also missed the mark in a few key areas. First, let’s talk about the good stuff. The staff were absolutely lovely—warm, accommodating, and always ready to help. Upon arrival, we were treated to an incredible cheesecake and green tea, which was such a thoughtful touch. Evenings were made special with roasted marshmallows by the fire, a charming and cosy experience that we really enjoyed. Plus, the hotel offers free parking, which is always a win. Breakfast was a full Japanese spread, beautifully presented and delicious—a definite highlight. That said, it felt a bit repetitive, and I don’t think I’d enjoy having the same meal every day. On the downside, the beds weren’t the most comfortable, and overall, the experience didn’t feel quite up to the standard I’d hoped for. While there were definitely memorable moments, I don’t think I’d choose to stay here again. It’s a hotel with potential and some great perks, but for me, it didn’t quite tick all the boxes.

This was an amazing place to stay, the food was wonderful and the spa was amazing. I look forward to returning next year.

We were treated like Royalty by the staff, very friendly and very helpful. The Onsen/public bath was the best we experienced in Japan. Beautiful views from the two Hotels and our room was the largest hotel room we had in 3 weeks in Japan. We loved this place.

We stayed here for 3 nights; breakfast was great, room was spacious and comfortable, the pearl infused onsen was very nice. There is also regular shuttle bus from Toba station, and at night, there's even marshmallows that you can roast over a small fire. There is also coffee in the lobby to start your day.

Staff, Service, Hot Spring, Food, Room, everything was good.

Shiojitei offers all the trappings of a luxury hot spring resort in Japan, although our room had western style beds. New, spotlessly clean, lots of beautiful light-colored wood. Note that the only hotel restaurant is upscale Japanese kaiseki, so be prepared for a Japanese meal in the morning. Toba is a popular domestic tourist resort, but it's still quite countrified. That means that there are not so many western options in the area. Truly a beatiful hotel, though.

This is a comfortable and quiet property. There are minor signs of age. The bathes are very busy.

Fantastic service. Our room was super clean and comfortable. Staffs go miles to accomodate our needs. Traditional Japanese breakfasts were beautiful and amazing. They celebrated my birthday and was very careful of .y friend's food allergy. Highly recommend.
