This hotel is located at an excellent location. Lots of restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We plan on staying there again next time we’re in Southampton.

Very old and very hot. No AC. History to the property if that's of interest. Good location.

Very old hotel but not maintained. No air conditioning and stairs involved. No hair dryers and one little round soap. No water supplied even though a heat wave was occurring in Southampton. However close to cruise docks which was helpful.

Lovely staff and very convenient location, on site parking definitely very useful. However, in room decor could do with some basic maintenance. My friend in room 67 had a cracked shower pan and the wallpaper was peeling very significantly. The latter could be fixed easily, but the former is a hygiene and safety issue which needs immediate attention. Hotel has character and would stay again.

All staff at the hotel were very very helpful however the hotel itself does need some renovation and .

Room ok but needs an update. Bed linen had a hole in it. Corridor to room drab. Bar not open while I was there, Monday to Wednesday.

Good overnight hotel in great central location just south of Bargate. Quiet and sizeable room.Very good value and chargeable breakfast was excellent at £9. Would definitely return

It was convenient to have a hot buffet breakfast on site. Staff was helpful and and polite.

Hotel was small but our room was great. No AC but not unexpected. Was there on supposedly record setting heat day but there was a fan in the room so wasn't unbearable. In downtown old town so a lot within walking distance. Was there for a cruise and it was walkable to the cruise port (about 1 mile).

I liked that it was close to shopping and restaurants. Reasonably priced, roo Was a little hot but not too uncomfortable. I'd stay there again when in Southampton

Very helpful and pleasant staff, the room had two double beds and a walk in shower. The breakfast was basic but served well. All in all, a very good stay and I would be definitely going to return.

We entered our room in the third floor, to be met by a wall of heat. There was only an electric fan to move the air. Went in the shower room a there’s a window in there overlooking a hallway where everyone could walk past and look in. There was a net curtain and a thin curtain to save your dignity. Not impressed. The carpets in the corridors weren’t the best either.

Central location, many dining and shopping options within walking distance. Some steps are unavoidable. Low water pressure on upper floors. Large room with comfortable beds.

Paintwork dirty, carpet poorly hoovered, cracked and poorly fitting windows allowing the wind in. cracked broken mirror, I didn't have breakfast but had to walk through the breakfast room to get to reception, it look dried out under the lamps. Bar was poorly stocked. Bathroom had one tap on the wash basin that was that loose when you tried turn it off it went through over 180, the other wasn't the same as the hot. WC not fixed to floor. A school report would say must try harder and put in greater effort.

This is an older property with lots of character. Located near the downtown area, there are lots of dining choices within walking distance. There could be some work done in the interior to make it more appealing but the room was clean, comfortable and, even though we faced the main street, quiet. Breakfast was quite nice with a very good selection. Staff was very friendly.
