Most amazing meals! Great value! The hair dryer and electric outlets were not great but we managed. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Very clean considering it's age. The wine list is out of this world. Top notch Chef Carlo wears tons of hats with total elegance. He is a fantastic sommelier, host, chef, bell hop, concierge etc etc. Such fabulous personal service. It was a real treat!

the owners of the property could not do enough and were must charming. Carlo and Paola work so terribly hard but always ready to talk and smile with the guests. It is very much a family hotel with the gentle Nonna always about to help if she can. But to the main reason this hotel was chosen was because of Carlo's wonderful cooking. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

What a find! We are on a roadtrip and booked this last minute. Cortemilia is a small town and we didn't expect much besides getting a good night sleep. Then it turns out that San Carlo is owned and run by an Italian Top Chef who has cooked for Sophia Loren, Michelle Obama among others. If you stay there you absolutely must get dinner. It is a 6 course menu (changing daily) with a Michelin star level service and quality. You eat in a beautiful garden a delicious food, drink delicious wine and you forget about the world. The hotel itself is bit old school but very comfortable and clean. The pool in the garden is fabulous for an afternoon dip. The owners Carlo and Paola are extremely nice and helpful. All in all, I recommend this place 120%

We had a wonderful stay at San Carlo. It is a family run hotel with comfortable accommodations, a lovely garden and swimming pool and positively fabulous food. While some may be disappointed if they are looking for a Four Seasons experience, we tend to go for smaller inns and hotels and this was top notch for that. It is comfortably located in the Piedmonte area, filled with vineyards, wineries and hazelnut fields. It is a quick train trip to Turin, a lovely historic city. Carlo, the owner and chef, prepared memorable meals - such a special treat.

A jewel in the middle of Liguria. Great hotel, amazing food and wonderful owners. Worth the extra kilometres and narrow roads getting there.

This is probably one of the best hotels we stayed at. From the moment we arrived everything was beyond perfect .. They made us feel special in a very familiar and friendly way. The room and hotel were cozy and elegant at the same time. The breakfast was amazing and the food at the dinner restaurant couldn’t be better !

The hotel is very pleasant and and the reception staff very friendly and helpful with any information needed.The room is spacious with a comfortable King size bed.However, the room rate was expensive for a three star hotel.

We happened across this hotel on line the morning of our stay and we made a reservation. We were pleasantly surprised! It was lovely and the meal we enjoyed in the 5 star restaurant was fantastic! The hef personally attended the tables to explain the courses and after desert was served he sat down at the piano and played. It was lovely! The room was very comfortable, breakfast was very good and the pool was an added bonus! The hotel atmosphere was nice. I would have liked the wifi to be available in the room rather than the lobby however that would not keep me from returning.

We stayed two nights in San Carlo in Cortemiglia just by chance, but what a chance! The Truffle Festival just took place and the hotel had a fantastic five course dinner at a very good price. The most exciting thing was the extensive winelist. We had Barolos from 1989,1993 and 1995 at a very good price. And the room was nice too!

Fantastisk hyggeligt sted med rar og personlig service. Hotellet ejes af en famile, og det mærkes. Selv med kun to overnatninger, bliver man en del af familien. Det særlige ved stedet er middagen, som er på Michelin niveau og som serveres i en hyggelig have af dygtige folk. Selvom stedet ikke ligger i en særlig spændende by, er alt indenfor køreafstand. Mange tak til Carlo og hans familie for et uforglemmeligt ophold.

Hotel San Carlo in Cortemilia is a small family owned business where you are taken care of as part of the family. The hotel is high class style in a relaxing way and all is well kept and clean. There is a very nice garden for relaxing. The dinner in the evening is one of the best if not the best we have ever got. The chef is doing a fantastic job and deserves very well the fame he has achieved. Highly recommended for couples as well as families with children

Heerlijke accommodatie, mooie tuin met zwembad en heerlijk eten. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Echte aanrader, wij zijn er op doorreis geweest maar kan zeker ook voor meerdere dagen.

The hotel is very good and Carlo is an excellent cook. We had both evenings a very good diner on the terras with a view at the garden. The first evening we chose from the menu and the second evening we just asked Carlo to surprise us. And he did. We would like to come back.

Un grazioso albergo con piscina e buon ristorante, anche in giardino.Buona colazione, camera sufficientemente ampia e condizionata, tutti molto gentili. Il prezzo è un po' caro considerato il paese.

Magic dinner at this hotel - worth the whole trip - have travelled in Italy at least 20 times and have never had a better dinner - including both business and private trips. Extremely friendly staff that madr you felt very welcommed.

This quiet hotel, in a nice village, with is perfect for wandering in the area arround the hotel. The restaurant is absolutely masterclass. The staff is friendly and very good in theorie Job. In onze word: Topclass
