The room we booked was a family room with 2 beds and sleeps 3. The front desk did give us the exact room we booked when we checked in. However, the next day the lady asked for more money. She said that we only booked for a room that sleeps 1. They did not tell us when we checked in, and we felt maybe there is something wrong with the Orbitz booking system so we contacted the Orbitz customer service. The customer service took very long, the lady yelled us very rude that we had been sitting in the lobby for an hour and we either had to pay the extra money or leave the hotel. Wt*?! We booked the non-refundable 2 days stay. There was still one day left. We also did not say we were not gonna pay. We just wanted to figure out what happened because we clearly did book family room.
This was the worst experience we had in our entire life at a hotel. We were 2 foreigner girls and don't speak turkish. We felt she was taking advantage of this and threatening us. We did end up paying the extra because orbitz refused to refund the one day stay if we decided to leave the hotel.
Oh btw, we were asked to pay much more than the difference of the two rooms if booking online.
We stayed in a few other hotels in Istanbul and their service was profesional and breakfast was much better. There were still hair in the bathroom and strong cigarette smell from bedding that embedded to my hair. Stay away from this hotel!
