The room appeared clean but had a strange odour. Unhelpful staff when we asked to upgrade / change room. Decor very tired. No kettle or fridge in the room. Lacking English speaking TV channels. But great location.

Hotel has spectacular views and is an easy walk to the Medieval Citadel and walled town where there are plenty of restaurant choices for dinner. I recommend you have breakfast at the hotel. It is great value and includes local yogurt, cheese, ham, a soft or hard boiled egg, a basket of bread and pastries, a basket of fresh fruit, fresh pressed apple juice and coffee or tea of your choice. The property shares the bar/breakfast space, pool and spa, with its luxury sister property.

Directly across from the walled city. Secured parking and entrance to building. Delightful breakfast served on the terrace with local products.

Unusual layout and decor, but clean, quiet, comfortable and extremely convenient for visiting the medieval city. Parking is secure and easy.

Perfect location for visiting the medieval city of Carcassonne.

Huge room with singles for the kids and air con that actually works. Set away from the main building but quiet and only a 5 minute walk up to the castle. Pool area is tranquil and the pool is lovely but gets deep quickly more aimed at adults rather than families. Breakfast is an add on and aims to be all natural and up market.

Great location, 1 minute from the castle. Our room for 3 (1 queen, 1 double) was very tight. Modern purple / lime green walls and decor didn’t really match the charming and serene rest of the property but I guess that’s a personal choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. A good place to stay if you’re spending one night or two and then off on the rest of your trip.

What a find! This quiet little corner of Carcassone was so close to the walled city, yet was beautiful to stay at, the staff were incredibly helpful, and the pool was a fantastic spot to cool off in the afternoon. Plus, the decor of the rooms was fantastic (our was hot pink and orange). Could not have been happier with our stay at Hotel Montmorency!

Hotel Montmorency is 4* and right opposite the Hotel Chateau which was 5* so they share the same facilities which made it a great stay. Fantastic location set back 200m from Carcassonne entrance Gorgeous pool area, a bit smaller than official photos suggest but still lovely Breakfast was amazing, an array of dishes served to you by a waitress, fruit, cheese, ham, pastries, croissants, white and brown rolls and option for boiled eggs and muesli. Lovely setting at front of hotel overlooking the castle for breakfast, food and drink, gardens are beautiful The decor in the Montmorency is a bit on the loud side and the rooms a little small but the beds are very comfortable and great shower. Very pleased with our stay though a little disappointed that they did nothing at all to help us celebrate my 60th birthday and our silver wedding anniversary despite banners and cards all over our room and we’d notified them months in advance?

Room we had was very clean but the room in general was far too small, shower room too small, toilet room too small apart from that everything else was okay

Basic but convenient location for exploring old city. Configuration of bathroom was very poor.

Loved this hotel- perfect location, helpful friendly staff, clean, lovely gardens and pool and comfy bed. Bar snacks a bit disappointing but that was only downside.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location just under the city walls - only complaint is that the shower wasn't working

Great communal areas, snazzy rooms, clean and comfortable. Superb location. Friendly staff. Good location. But should have been clear on Expedia's website and also when checking in that the car park would incur a charge.
