Not sure why when the hotel was virtually empty that we were put on the top floor (4th - no lift) in the room furthest away from the reception. One towell between three adults was obviously not sufficient, the toilet needed cleaning and the room smelt musty. The restaurant was closed and the bar was also manned by the receptionist, but with very little enthusiasm. We decided to go out to eat and returned at 9.20 pm to find reception and bar in darkness, so no chance of getting more towells!. We left early in the morning at 7.00 am and reception was still closed with shutters down so we left the key in the entrance lobby. We appreciate this was a cheap room, price wise, on a par with a Premier/ Travel Lodge but unfortunately, not up to the standard. It could be due to the fact it was early January and with so few guests probably not worth their while to staff the place - but would recommend they close the hotel instead rather than providing a half hearted service. Unfortunately my opinion of this hotel is C*AP rather than CAP.
