Well located hotel within walking distance from Salisbury Cathedral and the city centre.Comfortable room adequate for overnight stay. No parking space available on site so had to park in public car park. Would advise guests to remember to request a space

I thought it was such an interesting hotel, obviously steeped in history, which is captured well in its decor and design. The look and feel of it is warm and inviting. The flooring on the second floor seems a bit weak, but other than that, everything was fine. The bed was smaller than what we're used to, but comfortable, the bathroom clean and the temperature pleasant with the window cracked. The front desk staff were very helpful when we needed something or had questions about getting around the city and sight-seeing. We only wished we'd been able to grab a fast, affordable continental breakfast - even just a pastry - before we headed out the door. Would like to stay there again someday!

Cheap and cheerful good location, parking onsite is expensive so I parked in the car park next door. Nando's opposite was fantastic !

The internet was fine. The hotel was charming, even with its sloping floors. It was a real pleasure for us to stay in such an ancient hotel with such an interesting history. It was also a good price. I would highly recommend it. Thank you and regards, Jennifer

Fantastic place to stay! The front desk staff could not have been more friendly, helpful, and informative. We absolutely adored our stay there, and I can’t wait to return. Try to get room 17. It’s beautiful, and like traveling back in time to another century. The bathroom was fit for royalty.

Location of the hotel was perfect. Everything was a short walk to the cathedral, shopping, market place and Elizabeth gardens. We parked in the short term car park on Brown street and the hotel provided a parking card for £6 a night which is reasonable. The also provided a fan as it was hot. Missing is a mini fridge. That would have been nice to keep our drinks cold.

Only issue was no blackout curtain so light from courtyard disturbed sleep. However mentioned to staff and they said sorry and would feed back to managers

Had to ask for a room change on arrival as too many steps at various intervals on way to room E.g bathroom had 2 step drop into the room. Not ideal for elderly couple. Having said rhat one has to remember that it is one of the oldest buildings in the town. This was our second stay there and will be back .

Friendly staff, always welcoming. Just love the uniqueness of the Red Lion. Walking distance to the town centre and parking available if booked early enough.
