We loved our stay at Moon Ocean. Was happy the pool was still open as it was very warm out. I think it is closed Nov-April. All the staff we interacted with were great. I especially enjoyed talking to the lady working in the restaurant / bar. She was so friendly and her English is amazing. I am sorry I forgot her name. :( If you have a car this area is perfect for your stay.

Overall an amazing experience

I honestly can’t say enough positive things about this hotel and our stay. The staff was wonderful and accommodating, even with the language barrier. The entire hotel was pristine clean and the views were amazing! The only slightly less than perfect thing was the firmness of the mattress but my husband loved it, so that’s more personal preference.

Need vehicle if staying here

Staff were not friendly. The one stationed at entrance was just watching you moving suitcases. The reception guys were impolite, mo greetings, with smoke odor from his mouth while talking, not friendly. The guy at the pool, just concentrated on packing those towel on the table, didn't aware of no towels on shelf, and didnt proactively provide towels for those coming up from water and ready to leave. Comparing to the culture of Japanese, this hotel is far below standard.

The room was very spacious. The view was very nice from the bathroom and living room. There was also a balcony that you can sit outside and watch the sunset. Very good sized refrigerator. They have a microwave and a water kettle that can heat up water to make tea or coffee. They also have a stove. You can ask the front desk for the cooking utensils. Washer and dryer available for free on multiple floors. You just have to buy the detergent from the front desk if paying cash or restaurant if paying by card. The pool looks very nice. The hot tub was very nice. I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again. The hotel is about 25 minutes from the Kadena Air Base and about 20 minutes from the airport. The only thing is that there are bicycles available for rent (not affiliated with the hotel) but you can’t rent them if you don’t have a Japan number because they will try to send you a code to register but the text message won’t go through.

So convenient for diving, grocery shopping and getting around. Nice view. Great staff.

Location was convenient for access to expressway and main roads. Department store and grocery within. Walking distance. Very friendly staff. Rooms little dated with odd configuration of bath. Room had great view of ocean.

Would recommend & stay again. We stayed 7 nights which was perfect. Because we stayed for 6 nights, the bfast was a reduced rate for us (¥1100 vs ¥2200). Free washing machines & dryer room on each floor (BYO detergent). Great pool, especially for toddlers. Our nearly two year old could stand up safely & play. Pool open 9am-7pm with a Life guard, lots of safe pool toys. Recommend a rental car to visit the island. Public bus is a 15min walk away. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on 5th floor, it had 2 bathrooms with showers & an additional separate toilet as well. Comfy beds, lots of towels, curtains kept room dark. No kitchen utensils when we arrived, but was available on request inc dish cloths, dish detergent, pots, pans, plates etc We requested our room be serviced 3 times (bins, sheets, towels) & it was always done to perfection. Staff were so friendly & helpful, always acknowledged even when your just walking past. Only down side was the ‘boy racer’ traffic noise at night from time to time. Revving engines. Mall across road with supermarket, massage, kids play area (L2), shopping, chemist & restaurants. Cafe next door at bottom of office block has half decent coffee. Nice beach 15min walk away. The price of our stay was worth it for the large space the apartment afforded us compared to hotel rooms.
