Very nice hotel in front of train station, clean, bed comfortable, very nice personnel , the only negative, was the heatwave in Europe and the hotel has no air conditioning, reception let us use a fan.

The room was in the process of being renovated. No tile and only an overhead light in the bath. There was no air conditioning and our south facing room got hot during the day. It did cool off in the evening but with only a door for ventilation, things got stuffy during the evening rains.

Friendly staff. Hotel is a bit outdated but the price/location is fine. The paint and carpet look old and not totally clean. The beds and bathroom looked clean.

For the price, Hotel Alerion was fine. It was very clearly in the budget category, though, with threadbare carpeting in the stairs leading up to the lobby, and rather old bathroom fixtures and undersized shower stall. After 11 p.m., guests must use an access code to get into the hotel. I assume this means there is no front desk staff, but I'm not certain. As a solo traveler, I didn't like the idea of having no one at the front desk; it feels a bit unsafe. My room was small with no amenities (no coffee maker, for example). However, it was in the lowest price category. Maybe the other rooms are better. The bed was comfortable. Hotel's location is convenient; directly across from the train station and relatively pleasant 10-15 minute walk to the cathedral and oldest parts of the city.

Ageing hotel but located in town before the railway station. Rooms are large enough, not the bathroom. No restaurant but nice "Brasserie" downstairs. A 15 minutes walk to unique old city center by the river with absolutely nice old buildings and eating/ drinking places.

They didn't have my booking. Reception was slow and didn't speak English. The main room light didn't have a bulb so dark.

A positive surprise. A small charming place. Ideal for a short stay. Clean and comfortable room. Not modern but functional and most importantly - clean. Very polite and helpful staff. Breakfast very basic but enough to start the day.

Lovely friendly hotel in great position near station but also close to the centre of Metz which has some amazing buildings. No air conditioning but a little balcony which was so good. It was also a bonus to have a tea tray in the room . Thank you

One night stay, basic hotel right beside main train station and station underground car park. Hotel gives you a voucher to reduce parking fee which is good. . Good location. Rooms basic but OK for a one night stay. No AC and did get warm as it was August.

Cheap, no-frills, near the railway station and good bus links; an easy walk from the city centre. We saved money by having a back-facing room, but the real distinction of this hotel is its front-view of the square and magnificent station building.
