I booked an ocean view room and the room I was initially given was a lagoon view. I had to show them my reservation to prove that I was supposed to be in an ocean view room. They did give me an ocean view room the next day. The refrigerator in the kitchen had water and ice in the door but it didn’t work because it was hooked up. The jet tub wasn’t working so basically just a bathtub. The dock was great for getting in the water but impossible to get out of the water! Plus the dock was not in very good condition. The toilet plugged up (not my fault) and the maintenance guy said he needed to turn on a pump or something but it did work fine afterwards. Bed was not very comfortable. I did like the patio. The Security Guards were very friendly and made regular rounds on the property.

Nice, large space. Beach view was stunning. Loved the pool, wish there was a hot tub. Washer/Dryer in the unit. Not many food options. Bathroom showers could use a good cleaning. The snake on the porch was a bit scary but they sent someone over right away to take care of it.

The resort and staff were amazing such a beautiful property and again amazing staff. The staff made you feel like you were at home and a part of the family. It was definitely hard for us to end our vacation, but we will be back again.

Beautiful lagoon views. Tasty decorating. Bottled water available in room. Could use a detailed cleaning, baseboards etc. staff throughout was wonderful. Pool area needs deep cleaning, a lot of mold and missing tiles in pool area. Would return. Enjoyed our stay.

Our family stayed on the beach side, in one of the 3 bedroom villas. It was perfect for our family of six. We enjoyed the easy direct beach access, sitting in the hammocks on our porch, and swimming at the two pools. Sargassum is a problem along the entire peninsula, so we didn't swim much in the beach. When we did swim at the beach, the property had paddleboards and kayaks that we got to use. The property overall felt like a tropical oasis. The ambiance at the Laguna restaurant was romantic and family friendly. You'll definitely need a car if you plan to go into Placencia town often. The only negative thing about the property was the main pool needs refurbishing - chipped paint and missing tiles. But I would definitely stay here again!

Facilities are super nice, I could park in front of my room and that was a big plus in convinience.... The staff was super helpfull and with the best attitude. The kitchen needs more attention, the food was just average or less not reflecting the price range...

The beach was one step away.

Umaya is a great place to stay if you want to just relax. The food options are limited but they do have a good dinner. The down side is that it is far from the main village of placencia and they only offer two times of free transport otherwise you have to pay. Rooms were clean and spacious…we love how our room was right off the beach and pool.

Spacious penthouse, with a full kitchen and ocean front. They just need to cut the height of some of the trees to have a clear vision of the sea and enjoy it from the varanda.

Beautiful lobby and restaurant area. Great beachfront pool bar. Super, super basic kitchen utensils - spatula and dull knife and incomplete utensils for 4 but plates and cups were ok. Ice tray unfilled and no ice. Room not ready at check in, dirty hallways for 3 days. Would not return, invest in property nor recommend despite the beautiful views and amazing lobby / restaurant area. We were so looking forward to staying but disappointed.

I liked the resort overall. The dislike was that they advertise a pool and pool bar, with a small wood fired pizza restaurant by the pool. One evening they closed the bar early around 5:00ish and were closing the pool at 7:30 due to a slower day. Our family had come back from the day excursion looking to hang out the rest of the evening to use the pool and pool bar and eat at the restaurant. One of the things I consider when booking a vacation is pool availability. It was very disappointing. I felt cheated in that I pay for those amenities, and they closed them because they felt there weren't enough people to make it available until their normal close time with no regard for the visitors interested in the pool, pool bar and pizza restaurant.
