If you want a boutique, luxury hotel The Saracens Head is not for you and you are not for the Saracens Head. If you want an authentic 'staying at an inn' experience with good food, a wide selection of ales and ciders and friendly courteous staff then you won't find better. From the friendly welcome at the bar to exchanging photos of the night sky with the lady cleaning my room I was made to feel right at home. Being a bit dishevelled in places merely added to the charm of my stay and my spacious room was clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view over the village square. The richness of the clientele with diners in one bar and tradesmen in another made you realise this was a place serving the whole community as well as taking in strangers such as myself. The food was so good I could not even get a table on my first night. If you are having a few nights in the Cotswolds you could do far worse than base yourself in Highworth and enjoy some genuine local offerings before heading to the more well known tourist sites. Thanks to all the Saracens Head staff for making my stay so pleasurable,

Great old building, bedroom spacious, , super clean with lovely bedding. All staff were friendly& helpful. It's a very old pub with a nice atmosphere where people of all ages meet. As an older woman on my own I felt perfectly comfortable in the bar areas having a drink by myself. That's rare these days. The only downside was that, luke so many British hotels there was no fridge in the room . I feel a fridge should be standard these days!!! Also the hall areas could do with a bit of tkc. Overall I loved it & it was a great price

Aweful! Dirty room, bathroom nowhere near the regulations standards, repulsive smell in the lobby. The photos look much better than the real thing.

I absolutely loved this property. The staff were great and bar and restaurant fabulous. Now if you want a Hilton or Travellodge this isn't for you. This is Quirky and Wonky and has stairs, no lifts. The rooms are rustic but perfectly functioning. There are cracks and wonky flooring. But its fun...well i liked it. The Bedding is clean. The bathroom was clean The TV worked, there was WIFI. Tea and coffe...great. There was no lamp in my room or Hairdryer. We asked but they didnt have. This is a very very old building but has good bones and a lovely atmosphere. Ample parking to rear of property. Beautiful outdoor area. Very quiet at night, but you may hear bar or restaurant depending on where your room is. Unfortunately i had a neighbour who was in and out and let the doors slam!! But thats no fault of the hotel. Definitely going back....just love it and the village its in

For an overnight stay on a budget, this was fantastic. The bed was comfy, decent pillows and duvet, the sheets and towels were lovely and clean and I really liked the brand of toiletries. The hotel/pub is really big and could do with some updating, but this would needs huge investment, so I'm not surprised at overall condition, but it's functional, clean and tidy. There were two bars one for side was food/restaurant and the other drinks, darts and sport on the TV. Lots of locals, I had a great conversation with locals whilst enjoying a few pints. Very big outdoor area at the back with heaters and a very large TV with sport on. Fantastic stick of beverages, I had some spicy chicken wings and apple pie with fresh cream, both were delicious. AJ (landlord) was very welcoming. The general atmosphere was busy and enjoyable. I will definitely come back again for a stopover stay.

Convenient place to stay for the night. Friendly staff in the bar directed me to my room and gave instructions for leaving in the morning. Arrived in the evening so could find on-street parking close by, then moved my car to the carpark when there were spaces. Bed was comfy.

Room No. 7 very tired and dated. Mattress so uncomfortable. En-suite had bad smell, not the best hotel stay this year. Didn’t expect too much but was a let down. Check-in and staff all fine.

The food is amazing and lots of great home made food. Defo 5 star plus. The room is okay for the price but it was fine. Internet fine. I would stay again and it has a lovely family and friends feel.
