Lovely two night city break in Newcastle. Hotel was lovely as was our room. Great shower. Friendly and helpful staff. Located a few minutes walk away from the quayside. Highly recommend.

Excellent all round. A friendly welcome from the reception staff and knowledgeable information about the area. A nice room with soft furnishings, large warm bathroom and comfortable bed. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Very nicely appointed hotel with an excellent dining room. However, shower and bath arrangement represent a severe safety hazard; safety hand holds must be installed. It is recommended that anyone who is even the slightest bit infirm or has even minor balance issues not stay at this hotel.

Lovely welcome to hotel du vin, we stayed on the night of our wedding and were blown away by the complimentary upgrade we were given, the room and extra touches were fabulous.

The room on floor 1 was very noisy.due to traffic! It was as if our windows were open it was so loud. Other than that the room was excellent. Some wait staff were rather “snooty”. Breakfast was grossly over priced @ £24! Parking is very limited, we had to park in a metered area for 1.5 days

We had a lovely couple of nights in the hotel The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and comfortable Although it is situated about 25 mins walk from the centre we found 2 great pubs nearby.

It was fine, not exemplary. Some staff seemed a little fed up and lacklustre. Service seemed to be an effort for some. Others were really good. The chap who seated us for breakfast and then was serving drinks in the lounge late morning was brilliant, cheerful and attentive. The room was ok if a little tired. The split of sink and bath at one end of the bedroom separated from the WC was odd and the low windows meant having to keep curtains closed as faced either shower or bath. Odd layout. A few minor cleanliness issues in the room but nothing too bad.

It was a good hotel, comfortable and quiet, and nice to have a tub in the room.

Lovely hotel in great location near the quayside. Staff very helpful and bar relaxing to get a drink in. Room was spacious and shower great - however, it was a bit tired and needs a refresh, the bed was a bit firm as well.

Check -in was slow, as we had a dog, and they said they did not know about it, and should have been told in advance. (I was not asked; I booked via hotels.com., but had checked that the hotel was pet-friendly.) Eventually found us a room. When we arrived in room, discovered that it had an over-bath shower. My husband cannot cope with this, as he has mobility problems. Back to reception - we were allocated another room with a walk-in shower with no difficulty -staff member was very pleasant about it. Bar staff were pleasant and friendly. The room was warm and comfortable. The bed, too, was comfortable and room well soundproofed. Apart from the charge of £25 per night for our dog (a miniature poodle, which does not shed), our stay was very pleasant and the staff accommodating.

Great place as stayed in on of the suite looking over the water, check was quick despite a couple of issues but resolved quick. Parking charged at £15.00 for onsite parking which I always think should be included. Suite was excellent, we had dinner and breakfast which was fresh and prompt
