This place is amazing. Here are my thoughts: you will want to rent a car to visit around, they do have parking. This place is reserved for those who don’t want to get caught in the hustle. Quiet, beautiful area within a banana plantation. The beach (rocky) is just a short walk away. Watch the really nice local swim with his dog on his back while spear fishing for octopus. Amazing. The staff is so helpful. They washed our clothes, made us a quick salad and were always ready to help. The restaurant is small but quiet and just the perfect stay. We ate there two nights and the third night went into one of the small towns. One day was spent just relaxing. The other driving along the coast and through the national park up the mountain. Hope you can drive stick. It was all in all a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend it. I would say one recommended would be celling fans in the rooms. But other than that it was stellar. Will stay again I hope.

We had a 3 night stay. A well run hotel in a banana plantation. A comfortable room and excellent breakfast. We had dinner at El Patio on arrival which was fine and then walked to a local restaurant. Nice walks through the plantation. Helpful and friendly staff.

Hotel surrunded by banana plantations, so environment is very quiet. Lack of tv in the room, bed comfortable. Lots of sports items to borrow from reception, as well as swimming pool towels. Breakfast average

Peace and quiet the order of the day - such a lovely relaxing few days. Our room was simple but had everything we needed, the bed comfy and the shower good and hot, and all beautifully clean. The staff were friendly and helpful - and the breakfast delicious with a good choice. What more could you want? There is a very nice bar/restaurant at the top of the drive, perfect if you want to relax and don't want to drive to a restaurant.

Hotel el Patio is great if you aren't into the resort-hotel type of deal, as it's nice and quiet and comfortable and has a friendly, home-like atmosphere. You won't find a mini bar or TV in your room, but there are very cheap drinks to be had in the nearby salons/lounges. A lot of folks have said you NEED a car if you're staying here and while it's definitely helpful, we didn't have one and we had a 6 month old baby. We used buses and taxis when possible, and it was very affordable if a little frustrating sometimes. The buses are not all that reliable, and Google Maps doesn't have great info on them, and you have to pay by cash. However you can get a taxi into Icod or Garachico for about €5-7 and from there catch a bus to just about anywhere, if you're prepared to sit on a bus for a while. Otherwise, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and would always stop what they were doing to help you plan your day out and things like that. We relied on them heavily to book us taxis and things because the taxi operators didn't always speak English. All in all a very positive experience. The only negative is the coffee served at breakfast ;) You guys seriously need to upgrade those bean-to-cup machines. The coffee tastes like it came out of a vending machine in a police station. Serve some regular filter coffee as well maybe. Don't ask it for a cappuccino - you'll end up with a weird chocolate drink.

Have just spent a blissful week here, completely immersed in the peaceful natural surroundings of the banana plantation. The family-owned and run hotel is in the charming old plantation house, surrounded by wonderful gardens full of fruit trees and flowers. The owners and staff are most charming and helpful, but keep very much in the background, so you feel more like a house guest than a tourist. Rooms are spotless and full of character, ours had lovely garden views. There is a small attractive pool with plenty of secluded sunny and shady sitting areas for peace and privacy, and a pleasant indoor lounge/bar area with lots of family and estate memorabilia and an honesty bar. Those looking for a spot of gentle exercise can choose from a variety of free activities including signposted walks around the plantation, tennis and croquet. The small dining room provides a buffet breakfast every day and dinner twice a week. We'd recommend Hotel El Patio especially to couples and older people seeking a quiet retreat in an utterly peaceful environment.

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff were second to none and nothing was too much trouble. The venue was relaxing and laid back and Garachico itself is a gem - very different to the tourist hotspots on the island. You do need a car to get around as (clue in the name) the hotel is rural and a little off the beaten track.

Lovely five night get away. Hotel has an old colonial feel to it tucked away in a banana plantation. Beautifully kept gardens with plenty of secluded spots to relax in. Lovely pool area. Rooms clean, not high luxury but comfy all the same. Hotel staff all very friendly and helpful. Great buffet breakfast. Honesty bar with low prices. Close to the pretty town of Garrachico (good selection of restaurants and a fab heladeria) which you can walk to but takes half an hour and wouldn't be very nice at night (long car tunnel). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had hoped for a quiet hotel in a rural setting in an unspoilt part of the island, and we were not disappointed. We slept well and we're not disturbed; breakfast was plentiful and delicious; the location was beautiful; there were good facilities on site, and much to do and see in the locality. A range of evening meals were available close by; and good local roads gave easy access to the nearby coastal towns, the attractive hinterland of the island, and - a bit further afield, but less than an hour away, the spectacular volcanic interior of Tenerife. The hotel staff were always pleasant and helpful - nothing seemed too much trouble. they were also informative about the history of the building, and the estate where it stood, as well as that of the local area.

Lovely hotel in beautiful location on banana plantation with sea views. we stayed in annexe which had it's own common room. The main hotel had lovely gardens and outdoor seating area. Also pool and sauna in gardens. The breakfasts were plentiful with local restaurants for evening meals. The location was just right for local towns and trips to the mountains.

Attractive restoration of a historic estate farmhouse within a working banana plantation. Our room was comfortable, furnished in traditional style, with a pleasant view into the courtyard. However, the beds were a real disappointment - see below. Breakfast was adequate - with a good selection of yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, bread rolls, and cooked selection. Juices (not fresh) and coffee (filter machine) were disappointing. Our stay was marred by poor weather, which coloured our view of the estate. It would have been nice to use the pool and sit in the gardens, but not in the rain!

Delightful rooms in a garden setting. Interesting walk through the surrounding banana plantation and only a 7 minute drive from Garachico, which has a good selection of places to eat.
