Beautiful location- perfect for beach and nearby bars and restaurants, shops

When I accepted the room they claimed that I had not paid even though the payment was made through the website. There was no hot water in the shower until after a technician arrived - the directions between the hot and cold water were different. The room looks very old and so does the furniture. The air conditioner dripped water, the mattress sank and would not rest, and in the middle of the night the ceiling fan's switch gave off a burnt smell. Not a good experience at all

This is a very nice beach front hotel. Popular place since 70s. Close to the city center with bus/train stations, banks/ATMs. Turtle beach also very close, we can feed the friendly sea turtles and take photos. Kids friendly beach area. This hotel has swimming pools. One for the kids also. Good breakfast and dinner buffet with international food items, some local items also daily. Good A/C, Hot water, comfy beds. Some TV channels with BBC. Very friendly staff!! They keep this property clean and tidy all the time. All the guests are very happy with the amenities. Lots of repeat tourist show this place is memorable for them! We will come and stay again. Big thanks to Front Desk staff, housekeeping and kitchen staff. Pool staff make sure all are safe and happy.

Nice clean rooms and beautiful view. Staff were fantastic and went the extra mile to upgrade our room on short booking notice. The pool and bar staff were fantastic. Right outside you can snorkel in the reef. Breakfast was a big spread. Only minus was I had to pay a small fee to use the gym. Highly recommend!

The hotel is dated & needs a revamp. The first room was old, musty & tired. Water marks on the walls, very tired bathroom & poor fittings. The 2nd room was an improvement on the first although dated. Staff were friendly & amenable. Breakfast was buffet style and plentiful but lacked variety. Pool area was clean & safe, although hogging of sunbeds started early 0600! Overall was a satisfactory stay however there are better value hotels along the same stretch of road.

Spacious resort right on the beach and great location. Rooms are comfortable and service was great. Lots of Russians which are not friendly.

Loved the staff's hospitality and attentiveness to guests. The breakfast on the days there is no buffet consists of too much sugar and carbs. The staff needs to pay attention to have more Protein rich food items such as cheese, yoghurt, ham etc. Access to the beach is great. So sad to see so much plastic on the sea shores.

The staff were very courteous. The safety deposit box and the room door lock were malfunctioning.

Beautiful location right near the beach and wonderful staff. Condition of facilities is a little dated, but for the price considering the location not bad.

It's not the fault of the hotel, but the power outages made the stay a little unconvenient.

Location of the property is amazing! Its right on the beach and around the market. The property is gorgeous and the views are beautiful. You will love the sunset. Staff is alert and very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Amenities can be better - dental kit was not provided, so thats something they can work on. Overall, it was amazing & I would highly recommend to book it.

What a lovely place to stay! Location is ideal as right on the beach and you have few restaurants and shops nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I really cannot fault this hotel and should I ever visit again will definitely book this one again.

Great location with two beaches either side and very close to some nice restaurants Good pool area but food at the pool bar was not great and a little over priced . Overall the hotel decor is a little outdated but that’s reflected in the price.

The room was stinking & the washroom was horrible, the flush didn’t work & the exhaust made crazy loud noise and had no way to turn off. Horrible experience.

We​ did​ not​ stay​ at​ the​ property.​ We​ were​ refused by​ the​ hotel​ and​ informed that the​ hotel​ association​ of​ Sri​ Lanka​ had a new regulation of not letting tourists from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand stayed at the property. However, they were not able to informed us earlier since Expedia doesn’t show nationality at the booking. We were stopped at the front by the security whom did not even let us stepped into the hotel. After the local driver had a talk with a hotel manager and couldn’t settle. We walked in to have a conversation but the hotel manger treated us as if they were disgusted. We were later informed that this regulation was not an official regulation by the government. It was a hassle to have to find a hotel last minute as then location is full with tourists and a lot of hotels were all booked. Despite the fact that it was already charged our credit card, the hotel refuse to take responsibility and stated that we had to inform Expedia and canceled the booking in order to get the refund.

This hotel feels like it was thriving in the 80s and then just... stagnated. The pool is fine - nice, actually - but only 'opens' at 8am. But that's it. The towel provided was threadbare with a huge hole in - the guy in charge of supplying them was almost flat on his back with his legs spread up against the doorframe - a lovely sight to walk into. The security guard at the gate towards the beach was LOVELY. And then. The room is old, dated, gross - I literally slept and left. The double bed is 2 single beds pushed together but it doesn't... fit together. There was a box of Barbie themed tissues on the dresser - an amenity? Breakfast was bad and the coffee even worse. At check-out we had to hang around for someone to go "check the room". What they think guests might take is beyond me. (The Barbie tissues, perhaps?)

Location was great next to the beach. A bit scruffy out front but nicer on the inside.
