The room we were given was room 14 and although it was large it was at the top of the building, this involved several flights of stairs. We stayed during a hot weekend and there was very little ventilation from the small window over looking the roof. The room was relatively clean although there were some cobwebs inside the light fixtures. All the staff were superb, especially the evening staff in the restaurant. The spa area is very nice and well worth a visit. The most amazing thing about this place is the food, whilst not cheap, it is exceptional. The choice is phenomenal, the quality and flavours are superb. Good, wholesome food, presented perfectly! Well done, all concerned!

Ideal for a couple break, in my opinion, not as much for solo business travelling. Rooms are hot but fan was provided when asked. It’s an old building bathrooms could a be bit nicer but feeling of the hotel is great. All beautifully maintained outside and excellent spot for walking. Hence 5 stars review

Beautiful old Manor House, main area and particularly the day room were snug and cosy. Room had all the facilities required. Lovely white fluffy towels and clean linen. Pillows very hard (but that is preference). Majority of staff pleasant. Food excellent. SPA a bit tired in places but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the massage was lovely. Would book again.

Young lady at reception was incredibly nice. I believe she had a south African accent (i hope to cause no offence). She was the perfect host. Room was beautiful

Perfect for couple of nights whilst working in the area

I had a wonderful overnight stay here. The room was lovely, ver quiet with beautiful views and a very comfortable bed. I did use the spa which was at extra cost but it was lovely and relaxing. I opted for the fine dining in the evening and it was outstanding. Breakfast was included and the menu had plenty of options from continental to freshly prepared hot options.The staff were very helpful and friendly- I will certainly rebut for a longer visit.

Always a pleasure to stay here, this time exceed expectations. As it was our anniversary, we were treated to a free glass of bubbly as well as a free cocktail on the 2nd night courtesy of the bar manager. Fine dining experience was well worth the money. Look forward to our next stay

Lovely Hotel in a great location , staff were Excellent very good Breakfast and Restaurant was good , our Room however Although a good size with a great Bathroom Was far too hot as a main hot water pipe Ran through the room it was boiling I guess great in winter but not summer . Also there was no fridge in room to cool Water and drinks which was disappointing.

Loved the room size definitely value for money.

Lovely hotel, very cosy with plenty of space to relax in various rooms in including a pool table and boardgames. Room was comfortable, although the bed was two twins together with a mattress topper which I find less comfortable as the topper tends to curve down the sides. Spa was lovely, my only criticism would be that there was no cold water. Usually between saunas and hot tubs you get the chance to cool down with either a cold shower or plunge pool, but the shower only offered luke warm water which meant we got too hot and couldn't last as long in the facilities and didn't even use our full 2 hours. Apart from that it was beautiful and relaxing and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been more. The hotel is in very good shape. Everything has been well thought out and the decor works seamlessly from reception to lounge, conservatory. Restaurant, corridors , landings and bedroom. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels and bedding. Lovely bathroom, plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly, pleasant and efficient. Food was excellent each breakfast and evening meal. The external seating areas worked well with well laid out patio and garden. Can’t praise the hotel enough. A wonderful 3 days and will definitely return for a relaxing few days holiday in the future.

Visiting a friend on the other side of the country. This was a hotel 40 minutes away from him, I need to visit this specific hotel again
