Clean, spacious room. Choice of restaurants within walking distance.

The only issue, the pool should have been warmer, excellent stay, good local and good breakfast..

Breakfast was outstanding, ample variety carefully prepared. Room was very appointed with balcony to rest. Staff went beyond expectation to make certain that we are in comfort. Although the ocean is a little walk away, the pool is always available, meticulously clean. Thank you for a great stay! Fully recommended,,,

Just a great place to relax

Really comfortable and clean room with lots of options for breakfast and water fountain available all the time. The pool was nice and it was close to the beach. The parking outside the hotel was often full however there was free on street parking although this can get busy during the day with people going to the beach. There were lots of food options around and we enjoyed the breakfast there were lots of options!

Cold water machine often didn’t work. Too many steps with luggage. AC in room was often switched off by staff. Even at lowest temperature, room was too hot. No AC in rest of hotel. Did not remove dirty dishes from room nor give shampoo , soap etc regularly. Just seemed to leave a number of random bottles sometimes. Staff not particularly friendly nor helpful . Breakfast was good and pool was nice

Very nice and clean. The host/bartender is wonderful.

Excellent and friendly staff that were very helpful. Beds are firm but all of Europe seems this way. Very convenient walk to the beach and access to a store for drinks and snacks and an ATM. Restaurants walkable as well. Best part was the staff!

Seems recently refurbished and fresh. Pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds in shade or sun. Rooms are a good size with a small balcony. Breakfast was good

With the exception of parking, everything was wonderful. Bruno, the front desk receptionist, was friendly and helpful. He put smiles on our faces!

We had a wonderful time and definitely will come back Rooms were as pictured and breakfast was better than expected, lots of fruits, bread, cheese and more all fresh and delicious! Great location walking distance to the beach and other attractions

Room was very small and shower was tiny too. Buffet was delicious and location was good too

Absolutely love our 10 day stay at hotel alcaide. Staff where so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and cleanliness was very good. The only downside was the lack of a fridge in the room but given the opportunity to keep a bottle of wine in the bar cooler and ice was readily available when we needed it.

lovely little hotel, spotlessly clean with helpful staff, close to lovely beach

The grounds and pool were lovely. However, the rooms were incredibly basic - no hairdryer, fridge, kettle etc. Also, they only appeared to make up the bed and replace towels when they cleaned the room as the bathroom was still quite dirty.

Arrived early and staff stored bags, directed us for short walk to beach and 45 minutes later room was ready. Staff English is very good.

Nice property & pool

We have stayed in few hotels in Algarve including five stars establishments and on comparison Alcaide rates really well! It's biggest attribute is the staff. Very accommodating and showing very high standard of customer service, always smile on their faces. Location: Praia de Vau is only few minutes walk away and Praia da Rocha with the main strip of restaurants about 20 minutes. The neighbourhood is Portuguese with little tourists and the snack bar nearby Costa serves amazing cocktails with plenty of locals that go there. The area is very quiet and safe. Facilities: the main plus is the pool if you don't fancy going to the beach. Our main complaint would be additional charges for the fridge and the safe. That should be included in the room rate. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay!
