Hotel Nordic is an hotel in Norderstedt, a town just outside Hamburg. My twin en-suite bedroom, which I was able to use as a single room, was fairly basic, but it was more than adequate. The room had a tv, and there was access to the hotel's WiFi. The Continental-style buffet breakfast was excellent with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. It was reasonably priced at 10 Euros. The staff were very helpful. When I needed more liquid hand washing soap, and also help to get the TV to work, the staff attended to these matters swiftly. Parking for those with cars was adequate. There are plenty of shops, including PENNY MARKT, and some cafes nearby. Transport facilities are good, with modern local buses. The Hochbahn, a sort of Metro train service , which could take passengers to the airport or Hamburg city centre and its harbour, was about 15 minutes walk away from the hotel. A 5 day tourist card for travel on ferries, buses, Hochbahn and S-Bahn trains cost me the equivalent of about £47.50 in zones A and B (adequate for seeing a large part of Hamburg).

Reasonable conditions for the price paid.

The stay was a big disappointment. We stayed in a 5 person room which had blood on the sink and a very dirty toilet. We were moved to a 4 person bedroom with an extra bed. This room had mold on the bathroom ceiling, the water tap in the bathroom was very dirty, full of spiderwebs and because of the extra bed, too small for 5 persons. I was advised to send a mail to the manager, but the manager doesn't care as we did not get any reaction after a mail, a reminder mail and a phonecal to ask for a reaction. We'll never stay here again!! See the pictures of the blood on the sink, the dirty water tap, the spider webs and the mold on the ceilings

The room was very comfortable and the staff very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again. It was great for my family of 5 with 2 under 2 years old.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It had WiFi and beds to sleep in. We were in a room designed for a family of four. It was cozy but it met our needs.

It was good

We had a great stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. We could walk to the train station. Grocery store was close by, as well as restaurants and a wonderful ice cream shoppe. It was great to find a hotel that could accomodate 5 in one room.

I had a comfortable basement en-suite twin room for use as a single room. The bedroom had a comfortable single bed for my use. It had a large washbasin and large mirror in front of it. There was a writing desk with chair. The desk had a lamp, and phone to reception, and above the desk was a flat screen tv with remote. The beds had lights and there was a light for the room. The tiled shower room had a shower cubicle and w.c. Sufficient towels, toilet rolls, paper tissues, and shower/ hand gel dispensers were provided. The bedroom and hotel entrance could be accessed with an electronic keycard. My only problem was that most days, the hot water from the tap was barely warm The buffet - style breakfast was more than adequate and cost 10 Euros. Please note that the reception desk is NOT manned late in the evening or overnight. Although the hotel in Norderstedt is not strictly-speaking in Hamburg, transport is good with local buses and an affordable U-Bahn (metro/tube - style trains), also S-Bahns, buses and ferries. The Hamburg-Card for various lengths of stay provide access to public transport and give some discounts to, say, museums. These reasonably-priced cards are obtainable from ticket machines at stations by paying cash or using a payment card.

The room was unfit for staying in. There were mould in the corners and on the walls and stains (blood?) on one wall. We did not stay in the hotel but found another place to stay. We have requested a refund but the hotel refuse, and say that they cannot do anything about the mould!!!!

As we arrived rather late at 10:30 pm the reception was closed. Upon arrival I had to call to get the pin to receive my room key. BF buffet was nice and was no later than 10:05am step by step cleaned up. Ok service.

Ok room, and check in and check out was uncomplicated. Only minus was, that the noise from other guests was too loud. You could hear everything they said - and it was after 2 in the morning.

Friendly staff and clean

Good breakfast and very busy, seating is limited. Front desk guy was in a hurry to leave and forgot to give us the wifi password. We had to knock on other guests doors to get it.

Perfect location for visiting Strasburg. Very clean and confortable. Brekfast was very goos. Highly reccomended

Great location - restaurants, groceries, bakery within very short walk. Walk about 10 min to train to Hamburg - in the cute town center. The breakfast was great & made use of the terrace that guests are encouraged to use, on a sunny afternoon. Staff were friendly & helpful. Only downside is the check-in process - requires calling ahead to get code to open the cubby hole with key card in it. Also, the parking is pretty tight. Would definitely recommend though & would stay here again.

Close to rail, excellent amenities, professional staff, great breakfasts, parking, location. We returned on our way back from a road trip through Scandinavia and deliberately rebooked Hotel Nordic. There is a great little Italian restaurant 2 doors down. Highly recommended.

The property was very clean and the room was very nice. The staff was excellent. the breakfast was great. Close to the rail for convenience to downtown.
