I highly recommend taking all your meals in the restaurant. Top quality food and well worth the calories!

Hotel is charming and in a quite setting. Basic facilities but okay for an overnight stay not a longer period.

Spent one night here whilst driving up through the mountains which was a scary experience.The hotel was good enough for one night and served its purpose.The restaurant was not open so we thought we would eat at the cafe/bar/restaurant next door to the hotel only to find that they closed at 17.30.We then booked a table at the hotel opposite and found the food inedible so we returned it and refused to pay.Don’t go to this restaurant.!

Lovely friendly family feel, at 1510m high outside conditions can be harsh, but we were well looked after and enjoyed our stay.

No answer to messages when we had to try to change booking due to our dog being terminally ill

Hotel was a beautiful location. Room was very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Wonderful views of the mountains.

In the winter this place is very cold as it has little heating, thin bedding, draughty buildings. Generally old and worn out inventory. Needs a major upgrade. Price high in relation to what you get.

The owners of this hotel were genuinely kind and helpful from the moment we arrived. The location in the mountains is a perfect place to start your hikes through the interior of Gran Canaria and the breakfast is well worth the addition as it is both well stocked to get you going and, being a small, more remote location, there aren't much for other options. The hospitality alone is worth the stay, plus the amazing views found down any trail that start just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended original, local, and authentic hotel.

This is a great little find in the centre of Gran Canaria. The owner Juan Manuel went out of his way to be helpful recommending hikes etc. The food in the evening was basic but very adequate and plenty of it. Breakfast was great! Although my room was a little dark (given how it faced) the hotel has a 'salon' with great views out to Tenerife for sunset. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's not luxury but the traditional rustic country feel makes up for this.

Very welcoming proprietors, nice lounge when log fire lit, fire needed during our stay as four days of thick ,fog and cold. Good breakfast

We stayed at el refugio whilst on a walking trip on Gran Canaria. The owner/host was a lonely man who went out of his way to be of assistance to us.. Very charming and always friendly. The hotel is cute and in a great area for the walks we wanted to do

Väldigt god mat i restaurangen, både på kväll och frukost. Personligt och mysigt hotell. Inget lyx men motsvarade helheten på platsen.

Zimmer war sauber, Personal sehr zuvorkommend und hat mir die Tücken des Code-Schlosses näher gebracht.

Encuentro que El Refugio ha mejorado en cuanto a comodidad (colchones y almohadas) y detalles en la sala común. La cocina como siempre, muy buena. Para mí ya es un lugar al que ir a disfrutar de la cumbre de la isla.

Extremt svårt att checka in på internet. Kallt rum i mars, tunna filtar i stället för rejäla täcken. Hårda madrasser. Vackra omgivningar enda merit.

Koselig rom på fjellet. Mulig med online innsjekking dersom man ankommer hotellet etter kl 17. God middag og frokost.

Pas de critique sur l'hôtel et le restaurant attenant. Mais recevoir 2 mels par jour pour que je fasse le chek in en ligne et que j'arrive avant 17h,ce fut agaçant.
