Really torn with this hotel, had really high hopes and expectations, and although there were many good things about the hotel, inc the brilliant staff and cleanliness, there were many flaws that left us disappointed. The main reason we chose this hotel was location and the rooftop bar area. We discovered when we arrived that there was a private event on, on the evening of our arrival and it was then closed on Sunday and Mondays....we wouldnt get up there at all during our 3 day break. This wasn't stated anywhere on the website that we could see (and i double checked). We wouldn't have booked here if we had known that in advance. The Lyaness bar wasn't quite what we were expecting either, it certainly didnt live up to the hype, that being said the staff were great. Breakfast was disappointing and not the standard of a 5 star hotel. We paid an extra £44 per room per night for breakfast but when my husband asked if they did porridge, he was advised that it would be an extra £10...even though he doesn't eat hot breakfast and that was literally all he'd have. We are travelling back to London in July and was really hoping Sea Containers would be our new hotel of choice, but we just don't know now. We may give it another go as the location really is fantastic, and that and the service from the staff helped make up for the shortcomings. We'll see, still deliberating for now.
