Hagi Yado no Tomoe is an elegant traditional inn. While the outside is pleasant and clean, once inside you will enter a rare and elegant world. The facilities are immaculate and it is clear every decision is made with exceptional taste. The staff are polite, extremely kind and respectful of privacy. The rooms are gorgeous, and the multiple course Kaiseki dinners are delicious and incredibly beautiful. They also have a lovely selection of local pottery on display for sale. Today,upon departure, I did their sake brewery tour. The guide and staff driving couldn’t have been nicer, and the sake master was so down to earth and kind. I also enjoyed a sake tasting and purchased a small bottle to take home. After the tour they recommended a lovely place for lunch, making sure I knew where to catch my but to return to Yamaguchi City. While in Hagi I particularly enjoyed my visit to Toukouji Temple and the surrounding area. My stay at Hagi Yado no Tomoe was delightful in every way. I hope to return.

The staff and facilities were wonderful

This place was a treasure for us as we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. The hotel is excellent, the food (breakfast and dinner) were delicious and all of the staff were wonderful to us

It would have been nice to know about the dinner service they offered.

Hagi No Yado Tomoe is an elegant ryokan that is conveniently located within walking distance of the Higashi-Hagi station. The property is beautifully landscaped with rock gardens and mature trees. Every every meal, breakfast and Kaiseki, was prepared and served with exceptional attention to detail. Staff members provided advice and rides to help with sightseeing. The onsens are public but since it was low season, there were very few guests so the experience was a good as a private onsen. One of the best inn stays in Japan over all and highly recommend as a shining example of Japanese hospitality.

家族4人で利用しました。お部屋がとても素敵で、温泉も綺麗。お宿の方の対応も丁寧で、とても気持ち良く滞在させていただきました。

From the moment we walked through their doors through the time we left them, we were treated like we were the only people there! Everything was exceptional, including the Japanese breakfasts!

Breakfast was just too much food...otherwise, all was good!

The hotel was beautiful. We had a tatami room that faced the landscaped garden. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Hotel bath was also nice. We didn't use the bathing area in the room so I can't speak to that. Staff spoke some English and were very helpful. Hotel location is a bit of a long walk to town. Regretted not purchasing the hotel breakfast. You need to order breakfast/dinner in advance because this is s traditional, if large, Japanese inn.

WOW!!! Everything you have ever heard about Japanese hospitality is embodied at this hotel. The staff was attentive and efficient, room was clean, large tatami mat room, grounds and garden were beautiful. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was quiet and spacious, with a nice view. The whole hotel was very well staffed, immaculately clean, and overall beautiful.

This is an excellent place to stay, very authentic traditional experience, including staff, ambience, service, everything! The onsen was beautiful to, would definitely stay here again.

接客対応が素晴らしい

東京や京都だと3倍程度はすると思います。皆さん親切で全く不満はありません。ただし、露天風呂がないことと、廊下の電気が一部つけられていないことで設備はマイナス1しています。

前回よりも、料理が今ひとつでした。 食器も、前回の方がいいものでした。 少し残念です。

ウェルカムドリンク嬉しかったです。朝食も、素晴らしい。出掛けに、写真撮りたいなと思ったら、中からスタッフさんが走り出てくれて、撮りましょうかと声かけてくれて嬉しかったです。また行きたいお宿です。一つだけ、風呂場に、掛け湯用の桶か何かあると良いと思いました。朝人がいっぱいで、洗い場が塞がっていて、桶が無いので風呂に入ることも出来ず、、でした。良いお宿でした。ありがとうございました。

とても心地よく泊まれました。 お食事は最高でした。 お酒も東洋美人が飲めて満足でした。 離れになっているので静かです。 お風呂、ベッドもクオリティ高いです。 また泊まりにいきます。

庭の手入れが行き届いており、部屋や通路からも楽しめました。特に、夜はライトアップされ、贅沢な気分を味わわせていただきました。

接客の対応も良くウェルカムドリンクの夏蜜柑ジュースが美味しかったです！
