Por primera cuenta llegamos 2 hr antes de la entrada y es entendible que no nos podian tomar pero anduvimos buscando quien nos atendiera por 20min, finalmente alguien vino y nos dijo que teniamos que esperar hasta las 3 pm. regresamos a las 3 pm y lo mismo nadie en la recepcion despues de 15 min la recepcionista vino y nos dijo con actitud que teniamos que esperar por que estaba ocupada, y continuo con lo que estaba haciendo. despues de otros 10min tomo nuestra informacion y nos llevo al cuarto. (todo esto en portugues ya que no hablaba otro idioma),Cuando entramos estaba tan caliente que no se podia respirar, tratamos de cambiar la temperatura y no funcionaba, fuimos a la recepcion y tuvo que llamar a otra persona ya que no entendia espanol, la otra persona trato de explicar que ellos controlaban la temperatura y muy molesto pregunto a cuanto lo queriamos, lo mismo a medio entender ya que tampoco hablaban espanol ni ingles. Las camas no comodas. El lugar es muy bonito pero necesitan mejor servicio y atencion.

Positives: The rooms (in the 'chimney' wing of the main building) were excellent - spacious and well-maintained. The building has been well and sensitively converted. The swimming pool is great. The dinner menu was pretty good. (We didn't use the spa, but I am sure it is lovely.) Negatives: Too few staff - in the evening, just one person manning both the front desk and acting as waiter for dinner (same scenario at breakfast), and therefore completely rushed (still very polite and professional) The breakfast was pretty unappetising in choice and quality - furthermore, we were asked to select a slot, and when we arrived at the appointed time, a lot of the breakfast items had been finished already (including the fresh items). The overworked morning staff then rushed to replace them. Other observations: Walked into town a couple of hundred metres away, and be aware that a number of places listed on Google Maps had closed down, or the opening hours were wrong (especially in respect of which places close during the lunch hour, and which take bank cards, or cash only).

Front desk clerk not very friendly, she seemed that this was just a job. Didn't show any interest or informative. Check out was awful, the front desk clerk as also doing the breakfast clean up. Had to search for her to be able to check out. Ground could use a bit of TLC.

This hotel is amazing! Is an old convent with great rooms, great dinner and breakfast

Short Stay. Central, cost and confortable hotel. Strongly recomendo.

We got to the hotel early. The woman who was managing the front desk almost throw us out of the property as the check in time was at 3pm. Customary hotels offer to hold the luggage in storage we had to beg her to let us leave the luggage. When we dare to return to the hotel we found Octavio who was the check in clerk, bartender and restaurant server. He was very pleasant and accommodating. Expedia needs to note this hotel is in Portugal, no Spain.

All the things we asked - the answer was “no”. The place itself is beautiful but not Maintenance well. There was a problem with the hot water in the room.

Interesting place to stay, within walking distance of small old town of Monaco. Service standards were mixed, with excellent reception upon arrival, however the service for breakfast buffet was lacking, which was a disappointment. The room was lovely, and comfortable.

Nice rural hotel. Pool need better water maintenance. Breakfast ok. Too much hotel decorations.

Uma experiência muito boa, a voltar a repetir sem dúvida.

What a pleasant surprise. This was a convent that has been converted to a hotel, the rooms are tastefully done, loved the plush towels and blankets. The breakfast room/restaurant very well restored with a lot of character, not to mention the breakfast buffet which was very good. The staff were very helpful, located close to town (5minutes walk). Would stay here again and recommend to friends. The Albarino wine from this region is very good, the Museo del Alvarino in town is worth a visit.

Hallways and room badly need patching of cracks & re-painting. They set the hot water to be lukewarm in the middle of the day. Dining room dark at breakfast & food on buffet not refreshed for guests who arrive only 30 mins after the start of breakfast. Staff very pleasant, room was well cleaned.

Very nicely decorated with large comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice and quiet location.

Beautiful location near the Minho river, and the restaurant food is absolutely delicious!

I initially considered giving fewer stars than the hotel deserves because, selfishly, I wanted to hide it from other people. A great experience all over, from the location, the view, the staff, and Marco the chef. Don't miss it! Seriously.

No geral gostámos bastante do hotel. Limpo, sossegado, com uma relação qualidade preço muito interessante e uma piscina fantástica com a água a excelente temperatura. Um único constrangimento teve que ver com a porta de correr que dá acesso do quarto à varanda. A porta não funcionava em condições, inclusivamente, nos últimos dois dias deixou de abrir. Assim que chegámos reportámos a questão na receção mas o funcionário, apesar de ter ido ao quarto, desvalorizou a situação. Apesar deste episódio, tencionamos voltar.
