Everything was what we expected the staff on reception were wonderful. The room was clean and spacious, an ice cube tray in the freezer would have been nice but that’s a minor issue. Breakfast was lovely well cooked and good choice. Helga on reception makes you feel most welcome.

Staff were great, breakfast was excellent, and the room was clean and pretty new looking. All round a good stay and worth the money.

A lovely welcome by the reception staff. No problems with the room and had a good breakfast. The only very small thing I noticed was some not very clean public areas, such as the stairs and the outside windows in the staircase (very dirty). Hokwever, they did not affect our stay. Slightly disappointed that we had to pay for hotel car parking. Very central location, handy for the city centre and easy to navigate to.

Nightmare with checking the car in!

The staff really shine in this place. Excellent, friendly, helpful. The breakfast was good. The rooms were nice. The facility shows its age. There were some minor plumbing issues (shower drain backed up and toilet wouldn't flush easily). The staff responded quickly to our requests for help, but I don't think the problems were actually solved. I'd stay here again.

+: lovely staff at front desk. Air con in room. Nice design & layout of room. Free WiFi with no hassle to setup. Free buffet breakfast was surprisingly nice. -: possibly the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The carpets from lift to room door hadn’t been hoovered in a long time. The room was filthy. Lovely couch in room but I couldn’t go near it because it looked like it had never been hoovered before. Side of bed was visibly grim. Air con only worked with one temp setting (19 degrees cold), which was still decent because I could just turn it off if needed. The shower handle was gross and clearly never been wiped before. Water pressure quite low. Overall an OK stay but housekeeping need a talking to. Front desk & food side of things done a great job. Car park is small and costs £8 a night - at least it has one in a city centre. This hotel could be great if housekeeping got the Hoover & cloth out.

It was good value for money, so you get what you pay for .... £50 a night inc breakfast so it's difficult to complain about other factors

Not what i expected. Was clean and tidy. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Staff were great

A good budget hotel but there were a few issues. The shower didn’t clear properly, the room was cold (despite raising the temperature to 30c) and I was woken up by the fire alarm early on a Sunday (because someone had burned their toast in the breakfast room).

Everything was fantastic for a short break and really handy for the theatre which is a short break away

My only problem.was the heating did not work

Breakfast was fine ,plentyful , staff were curtious , but the parking oh-dear , yes outside but charges & having to scan were annoying , the tv's in rooms next to useless No point turning on .

There are very few parking spaces outside the hotel, and there’s a fee to park there. Our room could’ve done with a deep clean and the bedside lamps working. The bathroom wasn’t clean either. The shower had a lot of orange limescale and the shower mat had some mould on it. The shower hose was leaking and so the jet wasn’t effective. The cleaner also hadn’t bothered to clean behind the door. I expected much better from a Holiday Inn and I won’t stay at this one ever again.

Room was clean, staff were polite and friendly, parking was a bit of a challenge as there was only one spot left when we arrived and it was tricky to access, WiFi was intermittent, and breakfast was good. So a mixed bag but generally good value for a stop over stay.

Good selection at breakfast. Fast check in, very friendly and efficient staff. Clean and smart room.

Room clean , bathroom clean and laundry, staff very friendly, breakfast is clean and nice, only one thing not very good is car park only can about 20 cars if you lucky can park near hotel not far !
