I have stayed on the 3rd floor before and it was lovely. This time I was on the 4th floor, maintenance was working on their only elevator and I have a disability. Get to the room, had some sort of smell, the whole 4th floor. Electrical sockets didn’t work, the beds were like toddler beds with like a plastic pee protector, couch was all ripped, no tv in the room, there was a person yelling outside my window. I was too tired when i arrived to switch and had to leave shortly after arriving. Overall not impressed with this suite AT ALL. A suite is supposed to be nice, especially for $200 a night.

Fantastc restaurants, coffee, bakery, and indoor marketplace all within a couple blocks. We took the free shuttle to the Scotties tournament. It was perfect! Only downside is that this historic hotel built by Canadian Pacific railway, (once hosted Queen Elizabeth we were told) is in the process of being renovated. Even though we were aware of this ahead of time , the hotel's condition was much worse than we could imagine. The bed and bathroom was clean. But we had to take a bedsheet off and cover the couch before we could sit on it. Staff offered us a different room, but the couch upholstery was extremly worn, the cushion filthy on the arm chair in the offered room. We have never ever stayed somewhere so depressing. Once the rooms are redone, I would maybe give it another chance...

The moment we saw the building we immediately were thrown off as it looked pretty run down. There were also lots of people smoking and hanging out near the entrance. Lobby was nice, but the elevator, stairs & floors REEKED of smoke & were filthy. There were questionable people hanging out in the halls. The room itself was fairly clean but didn’t smell very good & was very old. As we were getting ready for bed we could hear what sounded like a rat or mouse in the walls, we then noticed the cracks in the concrete & insulation showing through. We let the front desk know and they said we would get a refund through expedia as this is where we paid for it, and we moved to a different hotel that night. Never would I reccomend staying here. Felt extremely uncomfortable and unsafe.

This historic hotel is pretty basic but its location directly across from the Prince Arthur landing is ideal. The prospector steakhouse and roosters bistro are both just a couple of blocks away. The staff is friendly and there is a security guard in the lobby since this is a downtown area with the typical city vagrants. We have also stayed here in the summer and the Lakeshore view is fantastic.

It started with drunk native people outside and inside. The receptionist was rude. Everything old and smells. Room had no lights. I had use my flashlight to go to bathroom. Whole was there I noticed the shower is dirty. I grabbed my stuff and left without even asking a refund. It’s disgusting. Looks like a shelter.

We ended up having to stay an extra night due to our exam being rescheduled. The hotel staff are extremely kind. They allowed us to stay in our same room. Security staff are always pleasant but very professional. The cleaning staff are always working and checking in to make sure we were ok. We definitely will be returning. The hotel is very close to everything and it was very clean. It always smells fresh for an older property.
