Everything is great except we booked two non-smoking rooms, however the smoke from the cigarettes from guests outside the room still managed to get in somehow.

The staff is very friendly, the environment is beautiful, there are still lots of bird sounds, very comfortable and quiet.

The room is comfortable, there is a smart TV, water heater, mini fridge, complete amenities, then the yard area is spacious for aesthetic photos & if you are lucky you can see lotus flowers in bloom.

A homey & comfortable hotel... feels like a vacation at grandma's house....

It was a pleasant stay. This was our second visit. We stayed here because we wanted a quiet vacation.

The food is less varied because there are not many residents during the stay.

The location is quiet. Beautiful, with plenty of trees surrounding the hotel. It's not too far from the Pancasila Square, a 5-minute walk.

I stayed at Kayu Arum for 3 nights, but I felt like staying longer. It's a Javanese colonial building with lots of greenery. It's quite cool in the mornings and evenings. The service is very fast and excellent. All the staff are friendly and helpful. All the facilities are also excellent. Ample parking and good road access. Will definitely come back to Kayu Arum.

The hotel was very clean, all the staff were very friendly, and the bathroom and bedroom were spotless. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit Salatiga.

A charming escape — this hotel blends the soul of old Javanese tradition with a gentle touch of the modern world. The garden is pure serenity. Trees stretch tall and graceful, dressed in blinking lights that make evenings feel magical. I stayed in the Studio Room for two nights. The King Koil bed was heavenly — soft, supportive, and perfect for rest. The room was clean and calm, though the bathroom showed signs of age and could use a little refresh. Still, everything worked just fine. The pool was lively, with friendly people around. Despite the hotel's age, it holds a kind of timeless beauty that’s hard to find. The staff were kind, responsive, and easy to talk to — they made the stay even more pleasant. I didn’t try the food this time — I wanted to explore the local flavors of Salatiga. But even without that part, the experience was whole. A place like this is rare. It draws you in, and somehow keeps calling you back. I would gladly return — and I do recommend it.
